I'm just going to jump in on this topic because it's often asked on the boards. My two cents....NO. Any Lana addition harkens to Smallville and that's enough of Lana Lang to last a lifetime.

I have to catch on Supes gossip, but is it official that SR is scrapped? Anyone know?

Not sure if Lana should be in the sequel. There's a lot of Lana in Smallville, I think I'm overdosed on Lana from that.

If they were going to do Singerman 2, the only way I would have been able to see them putting love interest in there is if Superman moved on from Lois and went to Lana Lang instead. But I don't think that that would have happened, because that would have gone against the whole distant outsider who doesn't fit in thing that he wanted Superman to encompass.

In SR:
Richard--Lois and droopy-sad Supes--nobody.
Re-enter Lana Lang.
Option 1: Supes no longer sad; marries Lana. Later, something Bad happens to Richard and Lana and Supes and Lois finally marry.
Option 2: Supes and Lana agree they're over each other and are just friends. Richard falls hard for Lana, and vice-versa. Richard marries Lana, leaving Lois free to marry Supes.

The big question remains: who gets Jason?

Option 3: one big, happy family. After all, Richard's house is big enough for all five of them! Easy access to air, water, downtown Metropolis... Whoever's home--whoever else is home.

I never care to see Lana in the movies even though I enjoyed the performance in S3. I'm willing to give the idea of Lana chance only if they don't do the unnecessary drawn out love triangle. where supes is being an idiot and acts like he can't make up his mind. something i was glad they eliminated in the comics. besides, with the addition of Jason and Richard it could be interesting on they work things out. but guys remember, Lana is apart of his past, Lois is his future and the one strong enough to handle the life he leads. this not to short change Lana; but her character was really never made to truly deal with Clark's life as Supes and be a parent. in the end Lana and Supes are best just being only friends.
