The only thing I would change, is giving him long red gloves/gauntlets (but not with spikes) just armored forearm guards

Eh, the mask doesn't look as weird in the actual book (and I'm sure it'll eventually go back to normal as the artists fine tune the costume). I could live without the stars. The gloves, though, I think kick ass. They'd look good on the old Cap uniform, too. The shine also is less annoying as it's coloured in the book, too.

I absolutely hate the black. Looks so off, in contrast to the bright red and blue.

Indeed He is so shiny.... Captain america used to be a MAN. caps lock man! The new one is a trendy kid filling the place of America's greatest hero. Oh great! I bet he could handle Ironman like Steve did. This reminds me of Spiderman's suit so bad! Last edited by Sandouras; 04-18-2008 at 07:05 AM. |

yes, but in pencil form. They give as nice look. I love this design with Batman, He needs more eyecandy so he can look good, this is Hollywood when it becomes live action. Flat black that looks grey just hides highlights and then your working against the comic book Batman most known to the public. Superhero's are made appealing using highlights and shadows. Capt. A. is too shiny but maybe it's just the way it's drawn. It almost looks chrome, I'm sure a live action version wouldn't look so metallic. You can certainly achieve a nice look without going overboard. If these live action costumes were designed only for the diehard fans there wouldn't be a movie at all. Any designer has different things to consider and balance because to them it's a product. Good drawing, you definitely get your idea across, looks like we think a like when it comes to Batman.

![]() ![]() [Explanation]I would be sure to make mine lovable by all fans, I wouldn't make the mistakes that Ross made. I would simply just use the design. Not a lot of people are fans of Ross, and I know that...hence: I am not Ross [/Explanation]--dk7 |

Don't like that inverted triangle thingy on Batman, persdoanlly. It's too Spider-Man/Nu-cap/uniformy/Star Trekky, IMO. Either all grey or all black, not two-toned (just the bodysuit, I mean - the whole costume can be two-toned in the traditional way). I don't like the v-shape on the F4 movie costumes either.
Nice drawing though. I agree about Batman's design being all about "points" or v-shapes though - it is. Not only the obvious ones but the way that the face is made up of 3 v-shapes - the slanting eyes/brows, the top edge of the mouth hole, and the jaw/chin all work together to create a cohesive look - and the ears sometimes add to this when they flare our or are parallel (and tend to look flared out when the head is tilted down). Which is why I get pissed off that the Begins/TDK cowls totally mess that up by getting the nose/mouth-hole wrong. |

Oh believe me, I love Alex Ross, he is one of my favourites (I just know a lot of people out there dislike his style)
As for you DxG...I can tell you like Ross. Your art displays it, not just your style, but your medium (cough: watercolour) hehe. I was talking to Luchastyle about your comic before, and I compared your half of the comic to Alex Ross You can ask him for yourself. As for the redesign, that is what I heard. I heard they were going to scrap killing Batman and just redesign his suit (Alex Ross). But I don't know how true any of that is... We will see... --dk7 |

I love it.
I really wish that was the costume we're getting. Maybe the Justice League movie will make it like that.

on a random side note, i like the dave mazzuccelli type color scheme of Year One, and wen the Dark Knight comic series first came out in like 89? 90? the batsuit was a wierd tone of brownish grey, which i dug, i mean i'd look odd on film, but love stuff like that AND COBBLEPOT your SIG FTW! PRINCE!!!! and its "i just looked her in the eye..." not poked ![]() lmao it'd be funny to see though

I mean can you imagine what they'd do with character like The Question? He'd be wearing blue battle armor and a fedora.
