In the scene were Ironman attacks the terrorists to destroy his weapons. One of them tries to hide behind a wall, but ironmans fist just goes through it, grabs the poor bastard and pulls him out. That had to be a Robocop reference...

I was just about to come in here and ask if anyone knew anything about this. It seemed like a Robocop nod to me.

Wasn't there supposed to be a crossover scene with downey and hurt from the hulk? or is that scene just appearing in the hulk?

and wasn't there supposed to a hillary swank cameo as well? Did i miss these?!?

Maybe after Cap was found "dead" the shield was given to Tony's dad?

More likely Tony bought it since he collects things like that. Probably the whole point for the Jackson Pollack painting scene at the beginning of the film. Maybe he had the idea to try and make the armor from the same material as the shield, if he could figure out how to do it that is.

It looks like he was building it, maybe he thought he could use a shield for something. Now in the sequel he sees no need for it and Fury sees it and says he might know someone who can. Who not go with the story of Cap but who knows.

What if Stark Enterprises already has a weapons contract with SHIELD and this was one of the "Homeland Security" type devices that he was asked to come up with.

He wasn't familiar with SHIELD in the movie so he wouldn't have had a contract with them.

People are reading too much into it, IMO. It's just a little in joke thing. Like how one of the ships from The Black Hole was in the junkyard in Episode I. It doesn't really mean anything.

there was a rumor that she was cast as a member from SHIELD, but it cool seeing Sam Jackson as Nick Fury though. I kinda disappointed that Swank wasn't in the movie.

Anyway, saw IM again yesterday.
- The Blakcbird/X-men reference is wrong. Tony says "SR-71".
- I did not see caps shield, but I may just have missed it.
- The Robocop nods are plenty.

that was definately captain america's shield. i had my doubts but after seeing it again last night ... that was it . it's not a table because it is on the table and you can even see the star.

i don't think there was any xmen reference but it would of been cool if there had been .
