What I mean is one way this scene can be interpreted is this way. Being driven by money is a flaw/weakness. A person whos main purpose in life is to make money is nothing but a joke to The Joker. He doesn't let himself to be motivated or controlled by pieces of paper. By burning the money he was also showing how in reality how weak and pathetic the Russian thug really was when his whole motivation for being a criminal was destroyed by a small fire.

I seriously can't believe the naivete of some of the posters in here. A twenty-three year old man residing in "a decrepit little town in Virginia" with a God complex, thinking he knows the world from personal experience.

Any "strong" person would be able to make the best of any situation, whether they live happily ever after or not. Maybe your decrepit little town sucks and has shunned you into a miserable life. So do something about it. I know I did, and even in a warzone I can manage albeit rocket attacks and what not. A "strong" person either shrugs it off, or does something about it. In my case, you beat them at their own game.

Sarcasm? Can't tell.

Strong, weak, to damn a world and even support it into further damnation doesn't help. If anything, one would only further fuel their hatred for such a world in doing so.

If a monkey throws its feces all over your painting, would you be determined enough to repaint it and make it better? Or would you further damn your painting by throwing your own feces at it? Maybe the latter and then the former?

Half the time, the Joker is actually putting his victims into situations where they'd kill eachother. Way I see it, it's a sociologic game to him, and he's the host, when he's not having the pleasure of knifing the victims himself, that is.

Keep throwing feces at your painting then, just stay the hell away from mine!

Not sarcasm, but flippancy. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

Be as flippant as you'd like. But then again, if you'd like to "play" instead of "work" out here on Afghanistan soil, you're more than welcome to Mr. Flippancy. Perhaps it's some of the others who should be more flippant around here in regards to your liking. I'm not the one speaking crazy

*facepalm* listen if you're going to keep sucking the joker's dick at least get the quote right. he says "when the chips are down, these "civilized" people, will eat each other." and yes, it was brilliant.

this made me giggle. NEVER has christianity slammed other religions for their beliefs cause of how it would make those people feel....NEVER! and even more ironic is you think people who can hide behind a computer screen give a rats ass about anyone's feelings.

OK. Now that this thread has eased up on me a bit, and from what I'm seeing become a fairly intelligent conversation, lemme put my 2 cents back in. I do not agree with ScareCrowMan666. I see some of his points, as I do everbody elses, but I don't have anyones back as of yet. Maybe things will be a little clearer if I explain why Bats and Joker are my two fave characters from anything ever.
Joker can get away with anything. He's a genius. He's not afraid to tell a joke that no one will laugh at. Wear clothes that look ridiculous. To me, he represents almost everything I've ever wanted to be, but was to coward to do. He's anarchic, but he's got it all figured out. He's Tyler Durden off the deeeeep end.
Batman has convictions. Morals. Values. Rules. He does what he believes is right, regardless of what Gotham thinks. He is this close to being the Joker, but would give his life for the life of someone he never even met. Batman has rules, but he pushes those rules. He's also a billionaire that does good things with his money, rather than waste it all(see my previous posts), and what he does "waste" is only to hold up the image Bruce. To protect himself, and more likely, those he cares for. He is what I want to be, and have a chance of achieving.
So you take the fearlessness of Joker, will to act of Bats, and the good heart of Bruce, and you have the man I one day hope to be. If more people were like that, who's to say how the world would end up? So that's my stance on why I find Joker's views so "agreeable."

Maybe they should. Mocking the faith of others is usually uncalled for and has no justification.

True but people still have the right to believe in that without fear of ridicule or maltreatment.

if we did that nothing would get done and progress would cease because people would stand behind their own beliefs and say they don't believe it. Sometimes we have to draw the line between stupidity and respect

But some people have no idea of where that line is.
They mock and they jeer and they don't spare a single thought for the people they are ridiculing. It's not enough to let others live in peace, they have to ram their belief system down your throat as though it is somehow superior to all others. Haven't we seen that in this thread?
People need to realise that with all the ideas floating around no one system is entirely correct. There's always room for betterment and greater understanding. Have your ideas, have your faith, but don't force it on others and don't take the liberty of running down what other people hold dear.
It just leads to trouble doesn't it? No one holds an idea knowing it's incorrect. And so any conflict of belief turns into a conflict between two parties who are completely assured of their own righteousness.
You see the problems this creates?

but see many of this mockery and jeering is provoked by actions of that religion like christianity. It is an endless cycle, and christians are now acting like the victims when they were the persecutors. The thing to say is to tolerate other peoples opinions they don't have to like it.

I am not a supporter of mocking religions, but religious people have to realize that they add fuel to the fire, especially with instances of "you are going to hell" or " your lifestyle is an abomination" or "you are gods mistake"

religion is best never talked about nor something flaunted, just keep it to yourself and everything is fine.
