Not really much is known about the show, which is suppose to debut next year, but what are some things you would like to see from it?
What style? The more current look, or a more old school feel? Just trying to jump start this part of the forum.

I think the blues of the classic costume would work better in animation, so I'd go with that. Just make the crotch part look like the long tunic of the current costume instead of the classic version's outside-undies look.
Beyond that, I'm not really sure what else they should do for the cartoon. I hope the style isn't too exaggerated, although the current trend seems to be to exaggerate figures in cartoons a lot more than they used to.

Well, I'd love it to be Kirby-style, but I'm expecting the American anime look, which is such a cliche now.

This is a pic from Marvel's website, although I'm not quite sure if it's related to the series:

Not a bad style for the cartoon if it's supposed to be about Thor's younger days. The sleeves make him look a little silly for a full-grown warrior, though.

I wish Marvel could use the same animators as DC/Warner Bros. The quality of the animation on DC's cartoon series has always been so much better than Marvel's.

I hate DC/Warners animation, its way to blocky.
The style they have done recently on their DT-DVD stuff is good, but Justice League, Superman, etc... have this really block shape form that i hate.

Simplified figures are a necessity for budget animation. I'd rather have blocky, Kirby-esque figures with super-smooth animation than detailed figures with clunky animation.

I'm really hoping it's not anime looking at all. I love anime, but if any cartoon should get a classic(I'm talking Hannah-Barbera lol) look, it's Thor

Cartoons in general seem to have gotten over the anime fad a bit. Plenty of new cartoons have their own unique looks without resorting to anime trappings now. I think Thor's safe.

I think that was actually made by a French studio.

imagine the conversation betwen garm (hel hound) and thor just before he leads the einherja to hell. thor - 'we ask permission to enter hel, 'I' will make the arrangements of our departure' I'd LOVE to see beta ray bill the fight for the hammer thor v surter odin v surter loki v surter all three v surter and the hel saga (especially where hela rips off thor's face) on a saturday morning cartoon. |

Yeah, a second season where he forges the armor and wears that would be awesome, too.

I'll be happy with one season. Thor's only ever warranted a one- or two-episode cameo in any cartoons up 'til now. The fact that he gets to headline his very own cartoon is something special.

I wouldn't mind the Hulk vs. Thor animators for a Thor cartoon. They pretty much nailed most aspects it would just need some minor tweeking in my opinion.

I didn't like that style. Too angular for my tastes, and not in the cool art deco way of the DC cartoons.

Do you know what the series will be based on? Is it young Thor and Loki or is will there be any Midgard in it?

No clue. It wouldn't surprise me if they kept Midgard out of it, though. Thor'll be on Earth plenty in the Avengers cartoon that's supposed to come out in the next couple years anyway.

To get back to the animation, I didn't mind it that much as I was just happy to see Thor in any animation period.
