No, it's not, as Stewart has done an excellent job of portraying Prof. X, and hasn't let his own self get in the way of the character.

Well, I think that they're afraid that they'll lose a lot of potential earnings doing that. They will lose out on a lot of money from people who are not old enough to watch it, weak-stomached people, people who just don't like a lot of unnecessary bloodshed, etc.

Yeah but they need to understand the term superhero, doesnst always have to be connected to children. A lot of comic books, especially now, arent meant for children. A character like Wolverine, isnt meant for children. He's a guy that has spent over 200 years slaughtering people with 16 inch claws that burst from his hands. he doesnt wise crack his villains and tie them up for police to find, nor does he where a flashy suit with his insignia on his chest. He's a bad dude. And this movie i feel finally got to tap into what Wolverine is really about. He's not a nice guy. He's a mutant, that'll kill you if you cross him

Fair enough. But remember that Fox is a business. So is Marvel, so I'm sure that even they wouldn't do it too dark. They want to maximize their profit. Can't really blame them for that.

We already got that in the past X Movies. Origins didn't explore anything new about the character. I was expecting to see a bad Wolverine that got his hands dirty, a character that wouldn't be likable at all at first. What we got is a Wolverine that always gives us a worried look, gets air sick and who's just a throwaway experiment.
