Default Unanswered questions about Iron Man and the rest of the Marvel Movie Universe.

When exactly does Iron Man 2 take place in the Marvel Movie Universe? Do these events occur before, during or after The Incredible Hulk?

What exactly is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s role in the film and movie universe? Are they affiliated with the U.S. Government or are they an international organization that does not answer to any one government? And are they the official big brother organization of the superhero universe?

Does Iron Man work for S.H.I.E.L.D.? Is he one of their agents, a freelance operative of sorts or someone who works by himself?

How could this movie take place before or during TIH? Seeing as Tony is already informed of the Avengers at the end TIH. As for the rest of your questions if you couldnt figure out that info from watching the movies, what makes you think other people would know? Its not like we all watch different version of the movies.

It's called speculation because obviously no one knows the answers yet.

And exactly how this could take place before or during TIH, it could be like the way the Bourne Supremacy and the Bourne Ultimatum are movies that intersect with each other. Granted he does come to Ross at the end of TIH about the Avengers but we don't know how easily he will have embraced that role in Iron Man 2.

Ya but it still doesnt change the fact that the movie is set after TIH.

I'm sorry I just have to do this:

How can Tony Stark build his suit in a cave, with a box of scraps?

Because he has many of his weapons and equipment to use and it was a primitive suit.

How can a man turn into a 12 tall green giant and go on a rampage?
Its a superhero movie. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate.

I take it you fell asleep during the movie -- or that part, at least. Ask a friend to tell you the movie.

I loved that Ralphie got a part in Iron Man. Is he still a producer on the new movie like he was on the first?

Are questions with speculation allowed? I wanna hear what you guys think will happen with Tony Stark being a vigilante. I mean he technically was killing terrorists in the name of his own company, and ofcourse what he saw as "right". So how will this continue on Iron Man 2? Will he sign a goverment contract with the SHIELD? =O (yes i'm a Marvel noob :P )

IM2 would be after TiH, until you hear otherwise. Just like TiH was after IM, because it was released afterwards.

Pretty sure they're US Gov, since they're called something like Strategic Homeland Intervention yadda yadda. Just call them Shield. Anyways, the naming sounds distinctively national, and they get used by the US government in TiH.

I'm sure that'll come up in the new movie.

They're an federal organization, much like FBI or CIA, focused on extraordinary threats (Super-humans). They respond to the USA government.

iron man 2 takes place before incredible hulk. Tony isn't officially affiliated with s.h.i.e.l.d, just because of nick fury's scene, that wasn't even included in the film. In iron man 2, nick fury with s.h.i.e.l.d. Will be more acquainted with tony stark, which would explain tony going to general ross in incredible hulk. Then the events in thor's film would take place, being after iron man, incredible hulk, and iron man 2.

I SERIOUSLY doubt they have enough faith in the general audience to grasp the fact that a movie released in 2010 is taking place before a movie released in 2008. They had a hard enough time realizing that TIH wasn't a sequel to Hulk (and some people didn't even get that). I say they're all in sequential order. Marvel wouldn't go to the hassle of warping the timeline like that.

^yeah, but that's a pretty obvious one. It'll be set in the 1940's. If some thick audience members still can't understand that then there's no hope for them.

I have a feeling the Thor will have parts before IM as well. man, the sequence is all f'ed up. The thick movie-goers are in trouble.
