I hope Bay stays on for the 3rd movie, but after that, I would like someone else to take over the franchise, if these movies keep making money, I can see us possibly getting 5 or 6 movies.

Yes! This is great news. Don't get me wrong Bayformers 1 was fun when I saw it in theaters (not good for rewatchibility though...except for the final battle which is always fun). He had a chance to do Transformers 1 and 2...it would be great to see someone else do the film...also with Steven Spielberg as executive producer is it possible that he'd concider taking over for Bay?
Then again this could just be Bay talking just to get a bigger pay check for the 3rd...I remember he did the same thing when the first one was released. (Like his paycheck could get any bigger...I hear he made 70 million for transformers 1.)

I dunno if TF:ROTF can break TDK's BO performance in the US and WW ( 530 million domestic and 1 billion WW) but there is a good chance of TF:ROTF making 400 million in the US and possibly 900 million WW

Won't Peter Cullen be mad old by that point? Peter Cullen is the ONLY person who should voice Prime for the movies. even a reboot. |

And Nolan should stick with the movies his doing, which are dark and intelligent. TF would be too different for him, imo. And Abrams has only done Star Trek. Lets see if he can do another good movie, as I thought M:I3 sucked. Quote:

There is no need for a reboot anyways.

Actually, Bay's movies could indeed be described that way. There are many things he could do "better", even as an action director of popcorn entertainment. He just doesn't do it. As we shall see underscored in TF:ROTF.

In Michael Bay's brain, there is only one phrase written all around inside, "BLOW **** THE **** UP."
So I understand if Bay can't do any better. But it's totally fine with me. |

I think after TF2 they should leave Transformers alone for a good 5-6 years; then reboot the franchise. Give us an all out epic G1 on screen adaption of the story featuring, 'The Ark', the crash into the volcano, their entombment on earth for 4 million years,etc..the whole shibang.

Too bad Bay is signed for a trilogy, as well as Shia, Megan and Peter Cullen.
A TF3 will happen. And then people can think about a reboot. |

not every war film needs to be the thin red line, there is a whole audience that would very much appreciate a less heavy film experience especially around this time of year it's so easy to pick a film apart from it's many missed opportunities while completely missing out on intent bay caters to this audience while the critics and boarders hate him for not making it the way they wanted

I'm pretty sure Michaell will just film another movie first and then return to film the third film in the franchise.

The Transformers we have now look better than anything G1 ever put out. 5 years for a reboot...HAHAHAHA. Will not happen. They will continue with this franchise until it stops making money and guess what...it won't for a longgggg longgggggggggggggggg time. This current franchise could easily do 6 films and I expect it to do so. Might get a different cast and a different director but they will not reboot this franchise after 2 films nor 3.

And your NOT a fan of James Cameron? I'm actually looking foward to seeing Andrew Stantons 'John Carter of Mars' - if he can pull of live action (and deliver some ACTION), i'd love to see him get hold of the Transformers franchise - he might be able to actually breath some character and emotion into all the big CGI robot special effects. |

I totally agree with him. No one knows when the **** the movie's coming out. I've seen one TV spot, few online ads, zero food ads, it's dry.

I agree with Bay on this. I follow ROTF's news on the net so I know everything about the movie, but aside from trailers I haven't seen much ad campaign going on, and it was not until last week that I start seeing billboards for ROTF around L.A. I think Paramount dropped the ball on this one, and thinking that just because the first movie was successful they can save on marketing and go for cheap advertising.

I can't help but agree w/ Bay regarding ROTF's hype campaign. It's been quiet at best, and there are a lot of people who still don't realize it's out this week. Paramount could be doing A HECK OF A LOT more to hype up this movie, but it's really nothing compared to the hype the first movie got. They're not doing nearly as much as they could be to keep Transformers on the tip of everyone's tongue, when I've seen the K-Mart Transformers ad more times than I've seen commercials for the actual movie!

So if he dies you'd stop making future TF movies or you'd make them without Optimus?

I dunno if its just because I live in LA, but I don't really see what Bay is talking about.
I've been seeing TV ads and trailers nonstop. The toys are out everywhere. The merch is everywhere. I mean . . . I'm not sure how they could market it MORE right now. It sounds to me like Bay wants out. Bay is crying that he wants out I think.
