Little help?

Got a slightly weird problem going on.

My PSN won't sign it. I always get the "You have been signed out of the PSN" message straight away. What's weird about this is... other accounts on my PS3 sign in just fine, as does my family's PS3 in the living room.

What's going on? kingman, KAL, Teardrop, you're all smart. Tell me now.

Ugh, this is yet another firmware 3.00 glitch. I can back up my saves then format the PS3 and everything'll be dandy.

Why do I always draw the short straw?

3.01 needs to come out soon. I haven't had any issues, but some of my friends have including you.

I can fix it all, but it'd mess up further trophies on Zuma and Batman, and my Home space and stuff would dissapear!

Maybe you should just wait a day or two. The new FW should be out soon.

I sure hope so. When was the last time Sony didn't have to release a new FW after the original screws up?

This is the first time I have heard of this particular issue being caused by 3.0

Few questions:

Does your internet browser work without any problems?

Do you get a specific error code or just get signed out?

Does it say the following?

"An error has occurred, you have been signed out of the PSN network"

If so it sounds like your PS3 is having DNS issues so I would suggest trying to set the DNS yourself. I suggest trying Open DNS.

Please write down your current DNS settings before switching to OpenDNS, in case you want to return to your old settings for any reason.

Preferred DNS server address for Open DNS is:

208.67.222.222

Alternate DNS server address for Open DNS is:

208.67.220.220

Other boards are ripe with the same problem if you search "80031606" into google (That's the number that comes up with the message). All other forms of internet in the house, including browsers on PC and PS3 are fine, including on my account.

Didn't work.

If 3.01 doesn't fix it, I'll just have to format my PS3 once I've stored my saves. It'll suck though.

Don't be formatting just yet though. I'll see if there's anything I can find out but it's usually a DNS error.

Its okay dude, I won't be doing it for a while, don't wanna lose the Batman trophies I've got recently. Besides if I transfered saves over and back, would it even let me get the rest of the medals for challenge rooms? Or would it think I was cheating?

Well I took the plunge and set it all up again today. Knowing my luck that'll mean 3.01 goes up tomorrow. I'll have to run through Batman again now to get back on course with the challenge room trophies, simply because otherwise it wouldn't let me have them. Sucky.

Oh well!
