I'd like to see them take the Ultimates route (awkward marriage included), but whatever they do they should keep the little-brother style relationship. I'd like to see him be about 16. I can picture a scene where he and Steve are playing chess, and Steve contmplates leaving art school to enlist, fearing that war with the Nazis to be intimate. Bucky makes a joke about how art school is pointless due to the possibility of perfectly capturing an image with photography and begins to discuss his ambitions. Steve procedes to beat him handily, demonstrating his strategic genius. Later, an official tells Cap he'll need a photographer with him 24/7. He then cracks a smile and says "I know a guy."

I like that... but I'd also like to have Bucky run off to join the army (lying about his age)... then he gets assigned to be Cap's photographer when Steve requests him.

I like the Winter Soldier plotline, myself, and wouldn't mind seeing it appear in the movies down the line.
You know what'd be nice? If the movie gave us Cap's origin story (which occured in 1941), then time jumped to the end of his career in WWII (sometime in 1945), with the movie focusing on his last mission before he got frozen. That'd be good, because then you leave the door open for possibly going back to WWII in future sequels. You could either A) Set the sequels in the present, and include flashbacks to WWII, which fill in what he did from 1942-1944, or B) You can actually set the sequels entirely in WWII, during those middle years that're unaccounted for in the first movie. Not sure which would be better, but I gotta say, I'd love to see the Invaders in WWII, and a Captain America movie would be the perfect place for them to appear. |

I hate kid/teen sidekicks, so I hope they go the Ultimates route with Bucky. I don't think it will be possible to have him as the Winter Soldier unless the origins of the Winter Soldier are altered. One frozen guy from the 1940's is more than enough, you know?

well he could be thought dead with cap, and the nazis or what not find bucky who is still alive barely, and experiment on him.

Steve thinking Bucky's dead is way more emotional than seeing him as an old man, IMO...
Stick with the 616, but maybe make bucky closer to steve's age to avoid the whole sidekick/"lil buddy" thing

I'm split between Anton Yelchin or Joesph Gordon-Levitt.
I'd like them to be childhood friends (basically Rages AMAZING idea) and after the talk, Steve disappears off the face of the Earth, Bucky inlists anyways, gets shipped off to Europe and meet by fate.

We don't really need a Winter Solider. IMO.

Logan Lerman is Tim Drake
I actually think Jamie Bell could be a good mix of younger guy but not goofy little sidekick

some interesting picks, as for taylor i have nothing against him but i dont see him for bucky at all. Plus due to twilight he is becoming pretty hot and is thought to be in at least 3 projects that some are likely to be going into production mid/late next year at the earlier and probably wouldnt be free. But first we still need to know how they want to go with the character in the first place.

Should Bucky actually be "Bucky"? Like in costume and all that or should he just be a young soldier/photographer
I vote for young soldier instead of costumed sidekick
