Action adventure is just not his forte, as he'll happily admit.

I think I have heard him admit it, he is good for what he does do right though.

He said it when he turned down directing Green Hornet.

I would have had a curiosity (perhaps morbid) to see the flick. Cage as Supes would have been .... different. But maybe interesting in some ways as well. Agreed on Smith's script being superior to that of Burton's final shooting Wesley Strick script.

I thought the Dan Gilroy script was the final draft before Burton left the project. Because if I remember correctly the studio hated that draft and told Burton to have it changed. Anyways could someone review Wesley Strick's draft because I have no idea what the basic storyline for that script was.

I'm still toying with the idea of novelising Kevin Smith's script, or drawing some pages as comicbook pages, or something. It's almost an obsession.

No. I believe you're thinking of JJ Abrams first draft script.

Kevin- Do you happen to know how I could get my hands on the Strick or Gilroy scripts? I've always wanted to read them, but only found reviews...

Found this. Nic Cage interview promoting Ghost Rider where he talks about if he played Superman in 98, he would 'turn the character upside down and do something totally new'.

It needed some fine tuning, there were many things that were out of character for both Batman and Superman. Plus some things were just stupid in the script but it was a good start. I didn't like the whole Lois and Clark divorcing thing either. But like I say a rewrite or two would probably have sorted this. Still even in that script version I'm sure it would have been a cool movie.

Y'know, that's not bad. In fact, it kinda fits with what people who have actually known what the suit would look like, would look like. In fact, I believe that was the classic suit for Act 1, pre-Death. Because Act II was the black/multi-phasing suit, and Act III was going to be a less muscle, more organic (latex looking, but not really latext) suit. Which we did see before, i.e. the one with the long hair Cage.
Now, we need manips. Last edited by Binker; 01-28-2013 at 06:37 PM. |

I would really like to see these pictures in color. You know, he actually doesn't look half bad as Supes! I'm really curious to see how the movie would have actually played out.
BTW, nice avatar Bink!

I quite like this costume (not as much as the MOS or Reeve one though). This is a quick job manipping the hues & colour saturation (to hell with detailing & accuracy!)
cy!)
