Character Application

Character you would like to play: Rick Jones / Captain Marvel

Powers: Rick Jones is a normal human with no powers but when he wields the Quantum Bands he becomes immensely powerful. Cosmic Awareness- This awareness grants him a sort of omnipresent consciousness that enables him to perceive objects, individuals, and cosmic threats or anything of significance to him anywhere. Flight-The bands allows Rick to fly in atmosphere or in space surrounding him in an energy aura to protect from the vacuum of space. He can also achieve incredible speeds. Energy Manipulation- The quantum-bands can affect, alter, absorb, and channel any form of energy found in the Electromagnetic spectrum and this also includes visible light.Energy Constructs-The bands can construct anything the wearer can imagine from "Quantum energy". The more care the bearer takes in the creation of a construct, the stronger and more durable it is. Communications- The bands can detect, emit, and receive radio waves, thereby the bearer can communicate with other radio receivers. Altered Metabolism- The bans are also able to augment Rick’s strength and stamina to unknown limits. Mental Protection- Protect Ricks mind from mental attacks and takeover.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Rick is a orphan who grow up going from home to home. As a child he never had a stable home. When he hit the age of 18 he left the last family took him in. From there he went on the road and getting work where ever he could. He didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life till he worked at a bar in New York. There he got on stage for a karaoke night just goofing around but found out shockingly that he was pretty good. So he decided to quit his job and go on the road with his guitar. Even though everyone always told him how good he was success never came his way but something better did. One night from leaving a show in Texas he saw what he thought at the time a meteor crash to Earth. He rode his motorcycle to the crash area only to see debris from a damaged ship. As he investigated the crash site more he found what he believed to be a man laying on the ground covered in blood. As Rick went to help the man, the man stopped him and told Rick that he will now have to be the new Protector of the Universe. He held Rick’s hands and the bands that were on the aliens were transferred to Rick’s.

Rick wasn’t to sure of what happened to him that night or if it was real or a dream. Because that next day he had went back to the area where the crash was and there was no trace of anything. The only reason why he believed what happened to be true was cause of the bands on his hands.

Not really knowing how to use the bands to become the great protector of the universe he figured that he’d start out small and do things to better his life. So he enlisted with H.A.M.M.E.R

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Well where shall I begin, with Rick Jones history there is a lot of directions I could have taken this character. Come on now he was trained by Captain America’s and also his sidekick. He was Captain Marvel. As we all know he is A-Bomb now. There is much more to say about this character. I feel that he is a character that you could do a lot with even though he has always been seen as a sidekick I think if I play him correctly he can be a great hero.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): I plan on making him more of a stand out character. What I mean by that is making him his own and not just some human who is the friend of the Hulk. Give him his own time to shine becoming the hero he can be.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): Another RPGer will be on board, well im already on board so I guess another character will be on board to help this wonderful story increase with more wonderful and great tales.

Finally all the training and hard work has paid off. It took me a while but I have finally become a member H.A.M.M.M.E.R. The first step of me taking a new life is complete.

I fallow the agent in front of me as he leads me to my new quarters.

“So you guys run into a lot of trouble?” I have been quit saying thing for the past 4 hours and I’m just in the mode to start a conversation.

Even though I tried to spark a little discussion it seems that my now fellow agent partner is the feeling the same way as I am.

“Strong silent type huh? It’s cool I can respect that.”

Great I hope that everyone else is not going to be like this or I’m going to need to rethink my goals in life.

After a good 10 minutes of walking the agent stops at door and points me in. It has to be my room. As I go to walk pass him I was about to ask him a question about more traing but the look on his face pretty much told me he wanted to just get on his way without being bothered. So I just went into my room without saying a word.

As I enter I seen agent in the corner of the room lying on his bed.

“Hey how’s it going?” He asked.

Since I been here he is the first person to speak to me.

“I’m Richard Rider.” He says as he extends his hand for me to shake it.

“I’m fine, I’m Rick Jones by the way.” I tell him as I shake his hand.

to enhance his already expenential strength and durability, the suit makes him every bit the juggernaut from mainstream Marvel, its a nano fiber suit stolen by the Brotherhood from the CIA

Character you would like to play: Reed Richards

Powers: Right now, none. But Reed could very well be the smartest man on the planet, with an IQ close to 250.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Reed Richards was born a child prodigy, the only child of steelworker Nathan and secretary Evelyn Richards. Reed was reading when he was two years old, and built a working airplane at the age of ten. Reed was fifteen when he enrolled at Empire State University and made fast friends with Victor Von Doom. A fateful accident on one of Doom's illegal projects caused the majority of Doom's body to be covered with third degree burns, and he was exspelled from school. Reed, who helped his friend on the project, was placed on academic suspension for the incident.

At the age of nineteen, Reed graduated ESU with his first doctorate, this one in physics. He went on to receive doctorates in chemistry, mathematics, and US History (he's a history buff, so sue me!)

At the age of twenty-five, Reed joined a think tank project in downtown Manhattan, based out of the Baxter Building. There he met and fell in love with biologist Sue Storm. Reed and Sue were chosen by the US government to head a NASA project. Working out of the Baxter Building, Reed and Sue were joined with astronaut Ben Grimm to unlock the secrets of space by inventing the world's first warp drive, capable of sending a space shuttle from Earth to the edge of the solar system in a few seconds. At twenty-nine, Reed and his now fiancee Sue are on the verge of creating their warp drive, but budget problems on the project have led to the government shelving Reed's discovery.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: I wanna do some crazy-ass Silver Age exploration stories with Reed and the FF. Plus, this new Marvel RPG needs an FF.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): This version is a blend of 616 and Ult. Reed. When he gets his powers, they'll be closer to Ult. Reed. Plus, EBJ has changed Johnny's backstory and I've changed up Ben's a bit.

The Baxter Building

"Another one?"

I shake my head at Ben and go back to looking at the night time view of New York City. Forty-five stories up and on the roof of the Baxter Building, the view doesn't get much better than this. It's a fitting place of the little wake/pity party we're holding.

A sharp hiss comes from Ben's finger as he pops the can on his fresh Bud.

"You can't hold your beer worth crap, you know that Richards?"

I hold up the half-drunk beer I've been nursing.

"What can I say? When you're right you're right. How many are you on?"

"This is my eighth."

"I just hope you never went into the air with eight beers under your belt."

"You kidding? In the Air Force and even at NASA, you ain't a good pilot until you done a sortie hungover."

I hold up my beer.

"Well, here's to the government. They can give HAMMER the goldmine, while we get the shaft."

"Yep. I bet if we created a new Captain America, we'd get a cajillion dollars."

Ben and I drink in silence. After a few minutes, he speaks up.

"I just wish I could have gone into space. All those years in NASA, and now it feels like they're wasted."

An idea crosses my mind.

"What if you still can?"

"...What are you and that scary brain thinking up now?"

"I pretty much got the warp drive built. If Sue can run through the numbers again and absolutely make sure no harm will come from warping to the other side of the solar system, then we could have our own test."

"Yeah, and then we can all be lined up on a wall and shot for it."

"If this works, Ben, then we're going in the history books. Christopher Columbus, Lewis and Clark, Neil Armstrong, Ben Grimm and Reed Richards."

"The ever-loving blue-eye Ben Grimm in the history books? I like the sound of that."

"I can finish up the work and get us into the launch site...I just need a pilot."

"Reed, it'd be an honor to help you out."

I nod and take a sip of my beer.

"You ever have a feeling that your life is meant for more? Like you could be something else, something more...."

"Fantastic?"

"Yeah, that's the word. All my life I had that feeling, and now it feels like this could be it."

I hold out my beer.

"To being fantastic."

"To being fantastic."

The metal cans clank together. I take another sip of my beer and stare out at the New York skyline.
