Oh my God. First Class has the 2 sexiest leads in the history of the X-films.

I'm happy with McAvoy's casting. It shows their using the Batman model, and casting good Actors. And with Brian Singer producing, and Mathew Vaughn directing...I feel good about the future of X-men for the first time since Brian left.

I have no idea who this James McAvoy is, but hopefully he will be a good replacement for Patrick Stewart. Ooops! Before finishing my post I did a Wikipedia search, I have seen him as Mr. Tumnus in Narnia! Other than that....i've seen nothing of his.

It's not exactly a must-see movie...I guess, other than for Morgan Freeman near the end..

![]() (I use the same picture in my Facebook profile...I just didn't want to post a gigantic version of my face here! )James was übber adorable with the fans...he came at the stage door every night to sign autographs, and always asked if he was forgetting someone. There are a lot of youtube videos that are worth checking - it's hard not to fall in love with him! And the play was great, as was his performance; he was nominated for an Olivier (kind of a Tony in the UK) award for it. Quote:

anyone else think that McAvoy seems too young to play Xavier?
i would have thought they would pick someone in ther late 30s - early 40s considering that in the last X-Men films he was around 50-60 this film will most likely take place 15-20 years before the event in those films i wonder if they will ignore cetain events of those films and Wolverine: Origins and will Xavier be walking in this film or in a wheel chair? damn you Fox!!

The troubling thing with the casting as a whole is that Xavier is supposed to be a father figure to these kids... not an older brother. The guy is too young to be a middle aged man with teenage kids. Look at the scene in X-3. Eric/Charles were easily in their 40's... and Jean was a kid... 11-12 years old? How can you cast someone 19-20 for Jean? There is only so much makeup you can use to make McAvoy look 50. It's not believable. I won't care one bit if this turns into separate continuity, but they need to come out and say that.

Yes, because Xavier was in his 50's when he met Erik in the 1960's
Why is Fassbender perfect for Magneto, yet McCoy is wrong for Xavier? They're the same damn age.

What don't I understand about it? You don't think I realize this is a Magneto/Xavier movie? I am saying you can't add a 20 year old Cyke/Jean Grey unless they add about twenty years to McAvoy. Not easy to do convincingly.
