Default Sir Micheal Caine

Well, considering he has been in every film Nolan has touched since Batman Begins, how about some speculation on a role for Caine in the Superman film?

Perry White, Jor El . . .

We're overestimating how much control Nolan has over this flick

Nolan is only credited right now as an executive producer. He may offer guidance but his influence and control over production is not that significant in that role. Usually when you see a big name given that credit, it's more a marketing thing by the studio than anything else, to give that film credibility with fans of the genre.

Given that this was done based on a pitch from Nolan and Goyer, I'd say he'll have a good bit of influence. Also, given that WB are willing to bend over backwards for him now, I don't think we can under estimate.

This didn't entirely need it's own thread but what the hell.

I don't see him as either. Maybe he could play Alfred!

Yes, but once the movie reaches a certain point in production, unless his title changes, he is going to be hands off the day to day.

I doubt we'll see Michael Caine in any unique role in the next Superman film. He already has a key role in a huge franchise (as Alfred) and we don't know if DC/WB plan a crossover any time down the line, or a JLA pair-up .............. in which case any casting of Caine in a Superman film would cause confusion.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the film. We know Nolan does not fancy a cohesive universe with his Batman and any other DC properties.

I also think that those who think Caine in a Superman film would be confusing to the audience, I think you are giving them too little consideration.

IF they did manage to end up with a single film universe, then I would still not be surprised to see Caine in a smaller role, running the Ace of Clubs perhaps . . .

He's Alfred.

Let the wraith of Showtime rain down on you.

I think Nolan bringing the project to WB's will be most if not all of his involvement in it.

Having him play Alfred would be a good way to link the franchises without having Bale. He could do a cameo turning Lois away from trying to interview Bruce.
