For continuity freaks (as opposed to comic book geeks) they could state that Sean has a younger sister, just so they don't have to cover all the tracks laid out from the previous film cameos.

Isn't it feasible that Caleb's Banshee had a daughter when he was older?

If we're assuming this movie is set 15-17 years before the first movie, then Banshee should knock someone up shortly after First Class, since his daughter was probably around 15 in X2.

My question is, will Banshee keep his Irish history? So far the X-men movies haven't been quite well with characters keeping their backgrounds or accents, and I'd dislike seeing Banshee show up speaking American.

Michael Fassbender (Irish/German actor cast young Magneto) will surely have to change his own accent to play Magneto, but an Irish character like Banshee won't show up sounding Texan, will he?

Eh, I'm not getting my hopes up that they'll keep his origin. The lad they got to play Colossus claims he even auditioned in Russian, but was told not to worry about it. Probably because he only has a quote or two. But still, I've grown up with these characters, and hate seeing them stripped off their roots.

Maybe that's just me though.

I guess it depends on the story whether or not they'll deem it necessary to how much to devote or portray his Irish heitage...

I don't think accents determine heritage.

I'm thinking unless the actor has been professionally trained or can naturally pull-off such an accent...and unless that character's origins or nationality plays a large part in the movie or is not distracting, I guess to save money on an acting coach, they just do away with it. I think it's part of the reason why they dropped Storm's accent and most other subsequent accents, especially after they scrapped her origin scene(s).

If it were up to me, I'd spend the extra thousands of dollars in order to bring some authenticity to the portrayal of the characters and the source material...But, that's just me.. If it'll cost me $1000 to teach Daniel Cudmore to speak 4 lines in Russian or with a correct inflection or speech matter, so be it. At least I'll maintain support of the millions of Colossus fans in the world who appreciated it and add value to my effort in creating a faithful adaptation.

True. I just find films more interesting when there's a bunch of American characters, then one who stands out with a different sounding accent. Like Nightcrawler in X2, I was so glad that they kept his character German!

I'd even be fine if Caleb here could pull off a minor Irish accent, throw in an "aye!" every now and again. Just let the lad sat down and watch a bunch of Irish movies for one day and see if he conjures anything up, I just don't want him to show up talking like Blob did in XO: Wolverine. If there's one thing Banshee is not, it's Texan.

It'd be nice for some more diversity, and if people can accept British Xavier and Magneto, I doubt they'd mind one or two more characters to be from European countries. I mean, Nightcrawler got all the way to America and nobody demanded an explanation out of that.

well since he is to young to be a potential love interest for Moira, maybe he and Darwin are recruits of Moira who come to assist Charles & Eric...that would make the most sense because the latter are from Scotland and Moira recruited Darwin on her own...

well, if true, I suppose he won't be the father of the 'Siryn' girl seen in X2.. perhaps a cousin or niece.. and my guess is in this film he won't be flying..

He probably won't even be talking in this movie - we're just being very wishful thinkers

Knowing now that this movie will take place in 1960`s... Banshee having a daughter in Xavier`s School in the X-Men movies make more since now.

Yes, it does. I guess they really are just ignoring any previous nods or cameos in The Last Stand and Wolverine. I just realized that if this movie takes place in the 1960s, Moira would be much, much older than she appears in The Last Stand.

Yeah... I never thought about Moira....She would be in her 60s or 70s in the last stand.

As an Irishman, if I had the choice between a Darby O'Gill accent and Banshee only being of Irish ancestory, I know which option I would choose.

Of course, if he can pull off a genuine Irish accent then it would be great to see. If he can't, then forget about it and just have him Irish by blood.

They probably will use him as part of a first wave of young mutants. In the Marvel Universe Banshee is in the age range of Prof X, they fought in war or something. I know that Prof will will in his 20s in the movie...

Oh yea that's right, she and Sean were in love at some point. That will be pretty weird seeing both with such a difference of age. I hate when they do that.
