I actually think the Rescue concept could work onscreen. Hammer swears revenge in IM2, bombs the building in IM3, Potts needs the same arc reactor heart thing only this time instead of a suit geared up with a ton of firepower it has a different purpose.
Definitely in the minority though, and I kinda feel Hammer's not coming back.

I hope she never get her own suit as far as the movies are concerned. It would just start to get hokey once every friend of Stark got their own armor.

A big HELL NO to Pepper getting her own suit. It was already bad enough Whiplash and Hammer got the shaft in part two in favor of them building up War Machine, no way in hell should they even think about having a subplot involving Pepper becoming Rescue.
Iron Man 3 needs to only be about Iron Man vs Mandarin, this doesn't need to go into Batman and Robin lets sell more toys and have a trio of merry superheroes territory. And if possible they should find a way to drop War Machine. The only female in part 3 or future Iron Man movies that should have a mask is Whitney Frost aka Madame Masque.
