there is that other thread about news and pics, but I think its better to have the official posters on an unique thread, so we wont need to search between many pages to find them.

Very underwhelming.....and confusing as to the marketing scheme.

They look good, although the first pic isn't a poster as I recall. I thought is was a screen shot.

yes, its like a still, but Id say its an artistic photo (not a poster, definetly)

Simply put these are horrible posters. Honestly I've never been too impressed with Marvel Studios poster art. Completely lackluster and unimaginative. There's nothing epic about these.

I'm wanting to see something like the LotR posters with the Middle earth map in the background and the characters faces off to one side.
It's not an original idea but would work just as well with the heroes on one poster and the Villains on another and Asgard in the Background and Jotunheim in the Background on the the other.

the background of the french poster is identical to the background of the Iron Man 2 posters...just saying. It's nice

Wish there was a higher res of the new one. I can see runes on the top of Mjolnir's disc and I recall some around the sides of the disc too in IM2.

I don't think they showed the top of Mjolnir in the IM2 easter egg

you're right, they didn't, I recall something somewhere tho. You CAN see the runes around the top of the Disc on the French poster tho.

Still hoping that they produce a more 'epic' style poster - possibly emulating a classic 'Thor on a mountain top summoning lightning to Mjolnir one-armed power pose' or something.

The imagery I've got in mind stems from somethnig that I saw on the cover of a Thor annual cover (one of the U.K. ones were they generally just fill it with re-prints) when I was a kid in the late 70's/early 80's.

I've never been able to find it since despite the fact that I think it was a painted Buscema piece but it was so powerful, its imagery is burned into my mind and thats why I think something similiar would be great as a movie poster - you see and and you kind of go 'Ohhhhhhh - that look's awesome'.

As I said, I've never been able to find it again, despite scouring tons of Buscema's work. The closest I've come to it is from something on Youtube and while it isnt the piece that I'm after, it's certainly Buscema and he's in the pose that I'm thinking.

Imagine seeing Hemsworth in an image like that in the cinema - wouldnt it just make you go 'I want to see that movie!!' ?

Is that Frazetta? It was certainly like that, just by Buscema.

Anyways, something like any of them showing Thor in that pose summoning lightning would be amazing. You never know - maybe theyr'e intending a poster like that but want to release it closer to release date.

I don't recall the artist's name but it was from Marvel Preview MAGAZINE #10
