She has a very big part in this movie. Biggest part aside from Thor himself.

I won't say the TV spot could have been better because I've already seen the trailer and the comic con footage which showed quite a bit. If I had seen neither of those two, then I think the Superbowl spot would have been a tad weak, but for the people I was with today, they seemed to be pretty interested in it.

A few of them that are more jock types said something along the lines of, "when these are based on a comic or cartoon, they're usually pretty good". Now that may be laughable to some, but at least this and Captain America might be appealing to the non fanboys.

What religion prohibits seeing works of art that contain references to other religions? Also, I'd love to see them trying to enforce this on their followers. What would happen if you're caught? Go to prison?

christianity does, or at less some sects of christianity do. remember the stink some churches rose about harry potter because it "promoted witchcraft"? now imagine how some of those people would react to a movie that made a hero out of a non judeo-christian god

There wasn't a whole lot of new footage from the Superbowl spot, but I did like the bit with Thor and Foster in her truck. I think there's pretty good chemistry between Portman and Hemsworth.

Like Wolverine was for Jackman, I hope Thor is that to Hemsworth. I know he has a pretty big following from his soap opera days in Austrailia, but outside the few minutes of screen time in Star Trek, we're pretty unfamiliar with him in the States.

I wouldn't say that. People who don't watch Home and Away (the vast majority) won't know who he is.

The church I was involved with when I was a kid loved this ****. Luckily, when you grow up and start making decisions for yourself things get back to normal pretty quickly.

My religion believes that any influence of a foreign god can subvert a person, even if it's only in the context of a movie.

It's the fact that The fact that Thor is a "God" is a is major part of the movie.
As their are parts of the internet where ideas against my religion's beliefes are not a major theme, I can go on here.

I meant to say that if the fact that Thor is a "God" is is not a major part of plot of Avengers, then I could watch it. AS it obviously be a major part of the Plot of Thor, I can't watch Thor. It all has too do with the major thrust of the work.
