I think the shield shooting thing is cool, but it really is pretty stupid when you think about it. Unless the shield can absorb the bullet like a bullet proof vest, then such a stunt would be incredibly dangerous.
Has anyone made a youtube video yet where she fires gun, the bullet ricochets off the shield and kills one of the other people in the room? Because that would be funny.

Shooting at the shield in close quarters may not be as dangerous as you think. Consider that the vibranium properties of Cap's shield seriously absorbs the impact energy from what ever strikes it. Whatever bullet strikes the shield is nowhere near as fast when it ricochets.

I thought that the sheild thing was cute. It's strange that it's become a controversy of sorts, especially when we are talking about a movie about a guy who gets magical powers from a serum.

In a description of the cinemacon footage a few weeks back, it's said that this scene comes after quite a bit of sexual tension between the two, which probably makes it funnier in the context than it is as a stand-alone scene.

It's nothing to do with realism, it just seems like a stupid, poorly thought out pandering to 'girl power'. It just makes Peggy look irresponsible, and, if the 'sexual tension' thing is true, childish.

That was one of my favorite parts of the trailer and cute is the perfect way to describe it like you said I SEE.

^Yeah, I just thought that it was a cute scene from the trailer, nothing more and nothing less.

Doubt it's that dangerous given he manages to dodge bullets because he "just sees faster."

See, this is what I hate about movie trailers. They contain scenes that don't make it to the final cut of the film, or, in this case, they edit scenes to make you think there is a different outcome.
In the real scene, Peggy fires the gun and Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:

Ok guys, you're right. There is absolutely no problem with shooting a gun at someone in a closed room when they're not expecting it.
You've convinced me

That's also why I hate her shooting one-handed- I know that's the norm in movies, but when we see Cap doing the same thing it doesn't seem that big a deal when anyone who's ever fired a pistol can say you never shoot with one hand. Besides, there's no reason to throw out logic just because this is a comic book movie- shooting a gun at someone who is not expecting it is retarded any way you slice it. |
