Pandorum was a total crapfest, but she made it watchable. She reminds me a bit of Carrie Anne Moss.

No official comment from WB as of yet and I am unaware of any news site (including SHH) that has confirmed the details of the Variety story. What we know is she got cast or is pretty close to it (Deadline also has an exclusive) but that's it. Interesting, if they do use the recent Faora from the comics, then Ursa is a completely different character that exists alongside Faora. But no Faora confirmation yet, so she may have been cast as Ursa. |

Snyder likes women who have been violated by men or I guess they hate men as well because of their violations, lets just say he likes wronged women, the victimized woman. This is right up his alley.

Actually Variety had the story first but had to fact check before it got published. Meanwhile Deadline rushed the story out before Variety and guessed it was Ursa.
It was all documented on twitter on Snieder's account. It's Faora, not Ursa.

Same here man.Fact of the matter is that the Modern kryptonian Zod in comics is the same as the Donner.Sure he has a diffrent uniform, more backstory and less campiness but he is the same villain.Russian Zod is different

Wasn't it stated that Zod was Kryptonian inn WB's Press Release? I think the possibility of a Russian Zod is slim.

Russian Zod wouldn't make any sence unless he has ties to Krypton.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Michael Shannon will star in the role of General Zod in director Zack Snyder’s new Superman film, titled “Man of Steel.” Snyder stated, “Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.” As General Zod, Shannon will go toe-to-toe with Henry Cavill, who plays the new Clark Kent/Superman in the film. The main cast also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent. Nothing about Kryptonian. That being said I realise the chance of Russian Zod is slim |

Zed, a Russian test subject who came to believe he was an alien that was weakened by Earth's yellow sun. He was possessed by the spirit of an alternate General Zod and gained powers either under a red sun or in his suit.

Seriously?
I'd actually be morbidly fascinated to see them try that...just to watch the trainwreck.

Yeah, the alternate Zod was actually executed by New Earth Superman for destroying Matrix/Supergirl's world. Highly unlikely that we'll get Russian Zod.
Bonus Useless Fact: Zed's real name is Avruskin.

I definitely have a feeling that we're going to get a story heavily influenced by Birthright, however in MOS it would appear there's going to be a real Kryptonian invasion of some sort (even if it's only two Kryptonians) and Superman's going to be forced to choose between Earth and Krypton. And personally, I'd really like if they explored that, because I feel like a lot of writers have tended to overemphasize Superman's longing for his lost homeworld rather than accepting and embracing that Earth is his new one.
