I just started a new painting class and I'm taking life drawing now. We haven't done much yet because we had a lot of days off, but soon I should have some new stuff posted.

I haven't had much time to update this, but here are the paintings that I did last semester, in the order that I did them in.

Thanks guys. I also have some drawings of models from a Life Drawing that I took, but I don't know how much I can away with posting, so for now here's something I did using Flash. I'm still working on the animation for it.

These are some damn good pieces of work! I haven't started going past Crayolas or markers yet, though I prefer sketching myself. There's something very different you and me though - I HATE drawing bodies

It's been a while since I sketched, i'm looking at your work now and I see just how much fun you've had with them, and it's stirring up old interests Keep up the good work

I love your coloring choices, that last pic of Welling in the suit is especially superb. I also like your paintings! I like them a lot better than the ones with markers.

Thanks, a lot of those marker drawings were done years ago before I took any real art classes. But in the past few years I've gotten more experience with using charcoal and computer programs. I think I might've posted a Spider-Man drawing that I did with markers first and then with Illustrator, and I too liked the way it came out the second time.

But I also hate drawing people, but after a class and some studies, I think I'm getting a little closer to where I want to be. Speaking of which, I was recently recommend by one of my art professors to do an internship with my school's library. I just started working on the project, which consists of me doing some drawings in the form of a comic book based on some topics that they give me. I think the timing is perfect because it comes with good practice and experience right before I'm set to finish school.

Great Art man, that picture in your Avatar of Tom Welling as Superman, did you paint that or am I that behind in Smallville?

Thanks.

Not you're not behind, he's still not in the suit. It's from a manip that I did.

Thanks Duke!

Well with another semester behind me, I might as well update this with some of my still-life paintings. I also have a few paintings of nude models, but I don't think I can post them so I won't bother. But overall, this wasn't my best semester and I gave pretty much a lackluster effort in this class in particular.

Here's a drawing that is going to be part of a bigger project that I'm working on, where hopefully it'll be a full painting by the end of the summer.

Every time you paint or draw you get better, so keep working.

Was it your effort in the class that was lackluster, or was it your results? There is a difference. Always strive to do your best and you will get better.

It's OK to not be satisfied with your work. It means you're improving. It means you're starting to see weaknesses in your work on your own, instead of needing people to point them out. That means you understand the concepts and know how things should look, which will allow you to improve your skills.

BTW, the still lives are good, especially the cans.

So I decided to go back and re-do some of my earlier stuff in a digital form in an attempt to get a more naturalistic look. Here's one of my first Spider-Man drawings and a variation coloring.

Also, here's the next part to my previous post. I might go back and redo this because I feel like this came out a little too photographic, which isn't really how I wanted it to come out.

Thanks, I just might add this to my re-do list.

Here's my latest.
