I know the two already worked together as Father and Son, but Caviezel would have been a proper cast. He and Cavill share similarities.

Well **** me sideways, one of those top tier actors that I thought would never do a comic book movie. Assuming Jor-El's role in minimal, I can't help but film Crowe is being wasted on a bit part role.

I am surprised Russell Crowe would do a small part.Jor-El IS likely to only be on screen for few minutes at begining and possibily like Superman:Secret Origin a message for
Clark when he touches this ship. This 100 percent proves they are doing the full origin. Now question IS Is Les Luthor In the film. |

yeah...Penn doesn't strike me as a noble father figure type. Clive Owen, to me, is just so dull in all of his movies...even in a movie i loved (Children of Men) he was very bland.
out of the 3, Russell Crowe is definitely the best fit and most qualified.

I'm okay with Crowe, although I would have liked a younger Jor-El and I also would have liked the scenes on Krypton to be in Kryptonese with English subtitles, but I can see where getting Crowe overrides using a fictional language.

Not a huge Crowe fan, but I like this move. Pretty big name and the guy has some chops.

Yeah, there's really nothing like a 73 year old being the father of a newborn....

I think you do.
![]() So with Crowe joining this, it makes him the only Oscar winning actor on this project. I can't wait to see who they cast as Lara. |

Good choice. Crowe is a true A-list actor and brings a real draw. This movie just got expensive. WB won't cheap out on anything now. I'm expecting a 200+ million budget.

I personally think that WB/DC leaked this through Variety to take some of the heat of Lantern. Weird time for a story to come out, the day Lantern opens? Just a conspiracy theory.

That could be true. Just like what they did when Sucker Punch came out.

Awesome news. I've been Hoping for Crowe as Lex , but he'd make an excellent Jor El. Penn would make a pretty good Lex imo.
