I really feel the only thing keeping this movie from being a success now will be the script. And maybe the effects. As long as the flying scenes looks closer to X-Men FC and not Green Lantern we will be okay.

I can't judge him as an actor since I saw only one movie from him (The Thin Red Line) but , all in all, I rather have someone that's talented then sharing similarities.

Actually that's not necessarily true. They may well be trying a vastly different approach. Via flashbacks or through revelations by Zod we may well see quite a bit of Jor-el in action rather than a disembodied head in a fortress. Also several recent comics highlight Jor-el's discovery that Krypton was at the brink of destruction and then his preparation for his son similar to how the animated series started. I'm hoping for something like that as it can finally flesh out the characters and highlight the real tragedy of krypton's destruction and Kal's loosing his birth parents.

Why does it seem whenever a WB movie does bad in some way, they release a great new piece of casting news. They will probably announce the casting for the reboot if superman opens with less than 60million lol.

wow, between Costner and Crowe, Cavil really is framed nicely, I just can't wait to see his personality on screen. (unlike the lack of superman personality in the Returns)

The Count of Monte Cristo. Caviezel plays Cavill's father.

I love Caviezel. Shame his career hasn't gone ideally.

I was all for Crowe as Jor-El when he was first brought up as a possible casting choice, pleased to see he's in talks for the role. Add yet another great actor to this already great looking cast.

This is what I'm talking about. When Krypton is destroyed it needs feel like a real tragedy...Not a time filler that serves only to set-up how Superman came to Earth.
