I'm not entirely on board with all of the ideas you presented, but I wholly support this aspect. I'm not saying it's the
only way to go, but I do very much prefer it when Jor-El and Lara send Kal-El rocketing into space with no guarantee that he'll make it to his final destination. I think it's all right to have them know of Earth, but I wouldn't go so far as them being aware of every ability he will gain, where exactly he'll land, etc. The tragedy of the entire situation is so much more palpable, in my opinion, when these two desperate parents take a chance and send their infant son toward an unknown future, rather than let him certainly die with the rest of their planet.
