When Cap escapes at the end, Amanda Righetti's "SHIELD agent" calls it a "code 13", which could be an easter egg that she is Agent 13 aka Sharon Carter.

The original Human Torch display was pretty sweet!
It was also probably a nod to Evans' Human Torch.

Since the Skull was obsessed with the Norse gods, he might have had an inkling that the Cube was sending him to Asgard or the Nine Realms. He might even have thought he was going to Valhalla. The idea of him skulking around in other realms, perhaps trying to steal other artifacts, gain immortality or even raise an army, intrigues me.

"The Star Spangled Man" tune was done by none other than Alan Menken of Aladdin and The Lion King fame. I got a great big grin on my face when I spotted that.
I thought that was pretty neat. It does have a very Disney-esque sound and quality to it.

It wasnt so much an easter Egg, but hearing Dum Dum shout "Wa-HOOO!" was right out of the old Sgt Fury comic.
It really made this aging fanboy's day.

I don't know if this is an Easter Egg, but during the motorcycle chase scene (which really looked heavily inspired by Return of the Jedi), I could have sworn one of the HYDRA soldiers made a Stormtrooper death cry.

Very nice. It added a nice touch! Also during the beginning scene when blood fell upon the HYDRA badge, covering the skull with red blood, I was reminded of Watchmen. Camera zoom and all.

My first thought was the Red Skull went to Asgard at the end & since this is set before Thor then no doubt Red Skull would meet up with Loki. Although was Thor & Loki even born by this time ? I guess Red Skull could act innocent & get Odin to help him ?

The scene from Thor, featuring them as kids probably took place around sometime in mid 900 AD, since when they got older, they had visited Earth and were thought to be Gods, hence the Norse mythology regarding them in the MCU universe. |

It is possible that Loki COULD meet up with Red Skull somewhere in the Nine Realms, but I doubt that they would have met before the events of Thor took place.

Hi all. New here. Finally decided to join after lurking for a while. Caught many things in seeing the movie this past weekend. One thing I have searched for everywhere, but found nothing.
When Dr. Zola is in the interrogation room, just before the Col. walks in we see a shot of what looks like blood on the floor near the cot. Zola sees it, then looks away as Col. Phillips walks in. I found it odd that they would show a close up of the blood spot, then that was it. Any ideas or was I just really truly seeing things? |

Hidden cool things through out the film.
1) Original Human Torch at the World's Fair 2) Hover car resembled Nick Fury's original flying car 3)Red Skull mentions Hitler digging around the desert...a reference to Raiders of the Lost Ark 4) Cap put his shield in front of his bike...a reference to the 70's Cap movies where his shield was also his windshield. ...got anymore

Yeah, that is exactly what I took it as, especially since they kind of contrasted it by showing Col. Chester Phillips approaching the interrogation with Zola differently.

I felt Zola in this had waaay too much of a conscience in this film.
Guys supposed to be an amoral, "Whatever it takes for SCIENCE!" personality. I got the feeling that he was looking at the Skull sometimes like, "Dude, don't you think that's a little bit extreme?" At least they got the extreme desire to live thing down.
