That final modern day scene made the ending of the movie, imo. So bittersweet and poignant. The one shot of the kids with the trashcan lids wasn't enough for a satisfying ending, imo. It would have left me with a lingering "That's...it?" feeling. Maybe if there was a little more of that stuff - shots of Cap's legacy, that is - then it could have been a real conclusion, but as it was? Nah. It was more of a comma than a period, if that makes any sense, whereas the final scene turned it into an ellipsis with a firm "To Be Continued" at the end. Which at least works as a type of ending, unlike a comma would.

Not at all, the sooner the better, IMO. It's not like they're skimping on the features to rush the movie out in stores so I see nothing negative about it's release date.

The release date does make sense. That's the same date that Disney is putting out the next two volumes for Avengers: EMH.

Its also possible that they could release it on November 1st since Shout! Factory is releasing the 70s Cap films then.

Either way, the features seem decent enough. Too bad the DVD release will probably only have the commentary. :/

Do you guys think the Avengers teaser will still be the post-credits scene on the DVD/Blu-ray? Or do you think after the issues with Paramount that they'll move the scene with Cap waking up to after the credits?

I don't think anything will be different with the post-credits scenes on Blu Ray/DVD. Again, this is Marvel Studios'. Paramount just distributes. I don't think they have a say in term of content on these discs.

I love the special featues, I'm surprised the release date is so early I figured they'd have released it either in November or December to get the Holiday bonus . Either way I can't wait to own this awesome film.

Oh my god. The DVD and DVD/Blu-ray combo pack artwork is just awful -- only the "limited edition" 3D combo pack gets that spectacular cover.

Come on Paramount. Quit giving fans the short end of the stick, and use the teaser poster art for the DVD and Blu-ray combo artwork. That way fans won't be gypped.

Blu Ray/DVD Combo Cover is what I had guessed they were going to use. Seems like they enjoy using the International Posters for the covers. The first poster would have been even better, I love that image.

Is this the live action teaser trailer or is the trailer from season 1 of the animated series "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" from Disney XD ?

I think the front page of SHH says that it's for the animated series and not the live action feature

They do it just because they know that they will piss YOU off. It's a conspiracy against you and you alone. You better go hide in your basement now. Be sure to stay away from sharp objects and bring plenty of food and water because they will be coming after you soon.

Why are people so dead set on NOT wearing glasses? I've never understood that. I think that it's ironic to hear that coming from people that actually wear glasses. I have a 3DTV and the glasses don't bother me or my friends. I guess that it's the popular thing to do.

Because they are trying to shove 3D down our throats. Thus they make the 3D DVD the most aesthetically pleasing.

The special features for the Blu-Ray is listed as "The Avengers animated series trailer." But if you look at the BBFC listing, it shows two Avengers related special features, one being specified as a cartoon.
