I vote none of these guys (except maybe Steve Kolves) Chris & Jon Nolan should pen the sequel. Keep David Goyer the HELL away from this. I'm already nervous about his involvement. |

Steve Kolves would be a good choice
How can you say keep David Goyer away when you haven't even seen Man of Steel yet?

Wasn't Christopher Nolan's brother originally supposed to be the director of The Man of Steel?

What's the problem with Batman Begins?
![]() And David Goyer had diferent ideas for what Blade Trinity was supposed to be, he wanted it to be set in a pos apocalyptic future with vampires but the studios found it too dark and so he ended up making what it became. Now, what you should mention is The Unborn

It was a fine movie. Thanks to Nolan's polish. Goyer is good at drawing blueprints , but he cant build a house

The George Lucas comparisons are apt.
Goyer gets paid the big bucks to bang out outlines/treatments because he's a great ideas man. But he's terrible at execution in the screenplay form, i.e. dialogue, structure, etc. That's why people get brought in after him frequently.

That I will agree with but its also why I wouldn't say keep Goyer away from any Superhero movie cause his templates are pretty good.

Assuming MOS is good, just bring back the people who wrote it.

I'd probably say David Goyer since he's pretty much DC's Joss Whedon at this point, which Jonah Nolan doing the final drafts.

Does anyone think Nolan s done with CBMs or do you think Goyer & Nolan could return for a sequel if MOS is a success?

Goyer should be kept as the story guy and an advisor, but someone else should pen the script for the sequel. I have no ideas who at the moment and I realize it may be too soon to say this without seeing how Goyer did on MOS, but even if that were to be his best work, I still wouldn't trust him to write the sequel. He is far too inconsistent. But as I said, keep him for the story outline and as an advisor to whoever writes the script (since their knowledge of the comic book lore would probably be limited compared to Goyer).

I don't get why people are writing off Goyer for a sequel when they haven't even seen MOS yet. He might be a perfect fit for Superman.

Well, I myself am not writing Goyer off for the sequels, as I said, he should stay on as the story man (like on TDK and TDKR) but nothing that he has done so far has shown me that he can truly stand on his own and write a fantastic script. Even the MOS script had to be worked on, at least judging by the comments from Nolan and his wife (one of them: "My big point of responsibility was helping shepard David's script." - CN), Goyer simply CANNOT stand on his own as a screenwriter so I'd rather see some really talented and accomplished writers pen the script for any future sequel because with Goyer it can never go beyond a certain level.

Well I feel the exact opposite since I loved TDKR. I definitely want J. Nolan to work on more DC movie material.

It is looks like MOS will be the last comic book movie involving the team of Chris Nolan, David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan.
I am thankful to Nolan and Co. for TDK trilogy and relaunch of MOS. For MOS sequels, Snyder will be working with different writers. Last edited by Bruce_Begins; 01-14-2013 at 01:06 AM. |

That's cool, I'd definitely like it if he teamed up with Goyer
