But the fact that metacritic has more credibility than either IMDB or rottentomatoes is well-established. And I am ready to have a long detailed debate with anyone who thinks otherwise.

In any case, I wouldn't want to discredit metacritic. To me it holds weight. Just as IMDB, RottenTomatoes, Amazon.com, etc. hold weight.

And in my mind - if BB is higher rated on 3 of those 4 sites... It's probably the better movie.

Why is that sad for me? The only thing that would be sad is using popular opinion as a defense for a movie. Avatar is popular with top movie critics and millions of Cameron fans, but it doesn't stop me and many others from thinking it's boring as hell.

And, as evidence from IMDB and various other sites suggest, neither do millions of fans.

If you're going to use one site as "Fact" about a film's superiority to all others, don't end up shooting yourself in the foot first.

Nice list... However, Men in Black, Blade, The Punisher and The Green Hornet should be replaced with The Crow (#7) The Dark Knight (#14) Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (#19) and Blade II (#25).

Blade is a tough one. Although the it was this film that ushered in a new age of of comic to film adaptations, and should be recognised for that fact, the actual story had a lot of problems. Blade II IMHO better addressed the character and provided a better and more coherent story.

All I know is that even though I haven't watched a Blade movie in over 10 years, I can still remember Blade 1 pretty well. I can hardly remember anything about Blade 2. And I didn't even bother watching Blade 3 after what I heard about it.

Scott Pilgrim I didn't even like and since this is a list of CBM's I'd actually endorse it doesn't belong here. TDK goes with AngHulk in my worst of the worst pile. And The Crow is much like Blade 2. I saw it when it came out but remember nothing of it so it really couldn't have been that good if it was unable to leave much of an impression on me one way or another.

I didn't say it wasn't one. I said my list was of my top 25 and to get on the list it would need to be a CBM that I actually liked and would recommend. Scott Pilgrim doesn't meet that criteria because I didn't like it at all.

Anyone who doesn't put The Dark Knight on their list at all can't be taken seriously. In my opinion. I can barely name 25 comic book movies, let alone not include The Dark Knight among them. Get real.

Batman (89) had iconic and memorable dialogue, visuals, music and acting. It was the very definition of "special". Plus it made a huge impact on the culture at the time and influenced BTAS. It deserves to be in the top 10.

According to Nolan, B89 defined the tone for superhero movies. Not like we didn't know that anyways. And that list shouldn't be taken this serious.

The order they have them ranked in makes that a pretty ****** list.

But my question is to all of you who are ranking Kick-Ass in the top ten. Have you guys seen the movie? If Nic Cage's horribly over-the-top Adam West impersonation wasn't cheesy enough to ruin the movie for you guys, how did the retardedly campy Jetpack scene not do it? Plus, nearly all of the elements which made the comic good were changed to cliche ******** just to appeal casual movie-goer. I, for one, am glad I didn't waste any money going to see it.
