Well that's exactly what I meant by 'it depends on how he's characterised'.

If he is shown to be purely emotionless AI, then I think taking him down doesn't involve 'killing'... it involves shutting off a computer.

But the more 'humanoid traits they give him, or if they go down the route that he actually is a living being, then it's totally different.

Just accept that this is the direction they have taken.
Then, you can either decide this version isn't for you and stop watching. OR you can decide to enjoy it for what it is - an elseworlds tale.
