I've no doubt at all Cavill is around 6"1. Have seen numerous full length pics of him at premieres where you can see he's standing on the same level as other actors around him, with no camera tricks or the like, and he's easily as tall as guys who are known to be 6ft or over, if not a bit more.

At the end of the day, he's more than tall enough to carry off the role. They can add lifts or use camera tricks to push him to what looks like 6"2 or 6"3 on screen - if they need to.

More important than out and out height (IMO of course) is body proportions. He's proportioned perfectly after the last few months of working out - broad shoulders, strong chest, narrow waist, just like Superman is drawn. He'll look perfect on screen, so whether he's an inch taller or shorter will be really be irrelevant to the final product.

Look at him here beside an 'average' guy - that's Superman!

Yeah, it's definitely different, but I kind of prefer a shorter supes. Both with Dean Cain and Cavill, I think it makes them look stockier because of their proportions.
