With the symbiote supposedly playing an important role in Spider-Man 3, it should've had more screen time ala Venom Saga, but even Kirsten Dunst's acting outstaged it.

I don't have a problem with that, personally hope the new movie universe is Venom free

Cooler fights? The only "cool" fight was the first Peter/Harry fight in the air. All others sucked

Spider-Man vs Harry in the penthouse, Spider-Man vs Sandman in the money truck, subway fight, climax battle are all awesome

and Venom taking out Rhino and Shocker is even more entertaining.

It showed the Amazing Spider-Man in that show to be a pansy without the black suit, so you know now SM3 has better fights

And...Spidey, or more or less Peter, also cries and flings his hair back.

Only twice

I think Venom Saga just won this round.

Agree. Honestly, after Web of Shadows and Spider-Man 3, that ruined my wanting of the symbiote and Venom for any more films and video games for a long, long time.

One reason why my least favorite universe in Shattered Dimensions was Ultimate Spider-Man.

I honestly think the game would've been alright with just the past, present and future versions.

Spider-Man in the cartoon actually showed he had some brains and used his mind to defeat the villains. All Raimi showed in Spider-Man 3 were his fists and feet up until he used those pipes against Venom to make soundwaves.

And...I didn't enjoy any of those fights; they were rather boring.

What's worse? Poor writing for a 90s cartoon or poor writing for a 2007 CBM that ran in the same veins as one of the greatest CBMs of all time(Spider-Man 2)?

Sam Raimi obviously didn't and never liked Venom, nor did he truly understand the symbiote and one of Spidey's greatest villains, but people do have grand visions, so someone could make Venom into an amazing villain and just a character that fans would actually appreciate, Venom fans that were heartbroken after Raimi's treatment like myself.

BUT....Venom doesn't need to be in the reboot.

So far, Spider-Man 2 hasn't aged a bit and is still a great movie, and I bet I'll be saying that just as I still say about '89 Batman. Although, Spider-Man 1, you can see how its aged, imo, and not for the better.

I think SM1 aged just like Batman 89 did in effects, and that movie lived nicely thus far -minus the obvious corn- as a nice entertaining movie
