more realistic weapons?

in the first film there were a lot of sonic-cannon type weapons, the exo suits and so forth.. will this movie have more traditional bullets and grenades? We know on the TV show they had to use lasers to avoid gun violence attacks by censors and parent groups, but here they can at least get the basic military combat aspect closer to what's real, even in a broad, semi-sci-fi setting..

Seems like it going from the trailer. I actually liked the high tech weapons. At least it looked cool.

Well, to be fair...it was Cobra who were using the family-friendly firearms (which were pretty effective in certain situations, seeing as how a hand-held gun could take out military-grade vehicles) while the Joes used more conventional weaponry. As for the suits, the military is actively looking to develop powered armour.

Rise of Cobra's technology was certainly not the most unrealistic example from movies set in a near-future setting is what I'm getting at.
