I really enjoyed AC1 at the time it came out and was one of the few that enjoyed the incorporation of the real world stuff. I played brotherhood a few weeks after it came out and hated it, I was bored and the parkour running wasn't as enjoyable as I had remembered from the first.

What made parkour less pleasant in Brotherhood?

Had a tendency to jump off the roof or head in a weird direction, i'm not saying it was any better or worse, I just felt more annoyed by it then I did with AC1. Also, the game as a whole just bored me and I didn't find anything interesting about it. Maybe it's because when AC1 came out it felt like a very new and original idea and there wasn't much competition with it, I remember playing that and Superman Returns. With Brotherhood I could think of several other games I would have rather played.

Heh. I kind of forgot about it after it slipped from the first page.

Anyway, I never had any kind of fondness for Killer Instinct. The gameplay isn't that great and most of the roster just seems like the developers went down some kind of checklist like, "Well, we need a fire guy, an ice guy, a ninja, a native american, etc."

Though it does have that robot predator dude going for it. He's cool. And also, it gave the world "C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!" So that's something.

I always liked Killer Instinct. But I also enjoyed just about every other fighter on the SNES. Like Soapy said there wasn't really any memorable characters, outside of like Fulgor.

Killer Instinct was cool, i think around the time when that game came out, Super Street Fighter 2 was already out and that had my attention. Gameplay wise, it was pretty good, Fulgore was my favorite character, alot of their characters seemed like generic versions of other fighters from different fighting games, but meh...I guess the game served it's purpose

This one is the only fighting game I played several times and didn't know the name of a single character

I can't think of a single character from Killer Instinct....except the green guy. I think his name was Jango? I can't think of a single memorable aspect of it. It always just felt like a poor man's Mortal Kombat. And I owned the game and played it quite a bit! So I suppose my opinion is this: Fun at the time, but not memorable in the least.

The only games in this thread that I've played (Perfect Dark and Shadow of the Colossus) were ones I've enjoyed greatly.

Jago, he was basically the "Ryu" of the game

I'm playing it right now, and it didn't hold well, it's even weaker than Mortal Kombat 1

Pretty much sums it up.

I would put Killer Instict in the same category as Primal Rage and Clay Fighter.

The most memorable aspect of Primal Rage to me was the health meter which was represented by a beating heart that exploded when you defeated your opponent.

What is it with those old games? You can't unlock the story on easy mode, has to be a higher difficulty

Yep, that's the way it works, if you want the endings you have to have it at least on normal difficult. Easy only gets you a "Congrats" screen and a message stating that next time play on a higher difficulty.

I liked Killer Instinct as a kid because I thought the characters were cool. I played it again in recent years and it felt really dated. And the characters didn't seem nearly as cool.

Ok, Since Killer Instinct was brought into the mix, let's jump on to the next game, now this one, you can go all the way up to the 3rd game since it was in the same generation, any other one appearing on like PSone or something, gotta start a whole no shindig for it, but here it is

Now, I literally begged my mom for the first MK, only to be disappointed because the SNES version lacked blood, but boy when the second one came out, it started the whole SNES is better than SEGA war, well at least for me it did. This game was great, all fatalities, blood, secret characters, cheap ass boss, you name it. Easily my favorite of the MK games until last year's Mortal Kombat released, Mortal Kombat 2 - Gone but not forgotten

Oh man, this will be a tircky one, Trilogy is the final edition of MK3 but it was released on PS1 and N64

MK1: Was really cool back then, I always loved the "Test Your Might" mode (simpler on Arcade than it is on Genesis), and the simple pit fatality. Other than that it doesn't hold up well

MK2: This one was awesome back then and it's always awesome, a huge update in everything over the first, truly deserves to be on every gen of consoles from the NES to the PS3

MK3/UMK3/MKT: The earliest version made me a little upset, no Scorpion, no masks, and Sub-Zero's uniform looks ugly, I knew back then he was the younger brother in this game, but in MK2 I though the older Sub-Zero was playable, and how we had Sub-Zero in UMK3 and MKT doing the ice on the ground move.
UMK3 on the arcade is kinda sad, no Rain, no Noob Saibot, I'm glad the character roster for consoles was different
I love how both Sub-Zeroes were in UMK3 & MKT, as well as that was being before the days of Quan Chi, and Noob Saibot was a being from a different clan, not the older resurrected Sub-Zero

Mortal Kombat 2 was such a great sequel, it improved on everything that us SNES folks didn't get with the first game. It was always my favorite in the series, I disliked MK3 because it seemed just seemed way too over the top, on a goofy level. Uppercutting opponents through the rough, Jax somehow having the ability to grow 20 stories tall and stomp you, Liu Kang literally dropping a MK arcade game on you, seriously????

Yea i loved MKII. Had a lot of fun playing that with friends, all of us trying to do the fatalities and such. I never could pull off anyones fatalities except for Scorpion and Reptile.
