I wonder if they're holding back on a trailer to see how "John Carter" does. If both films are CGI heavy, they may want to think about marketing in a way to give Superman an advantage John Carter didn't.

I think MOS will have a very focused marketing campaign and teaser trailer. I think WB learned their lesson on the SR campaign where they weren't sure what kind of movie they wanted to sell, but that was more with the TV spots than the teaser. As far as John Carter is concerned, I'm not sure the whole "before star wars/avatar" tag line was a very good idea. A lot of people that I've had to explain what the premise of the movie to were more confused/put off by the comparison than anything else.

But on a sidenote, John Carter's red martians reminded me so much of the Jor-El Set pics. I wonder if that is how Kryptonians will be portrayed.

What other reason would Show have to bump up the thread? Either we're going to get a teaser trailer, solid rumors of which movie it'll be attached to, or something. Show's not one to keep us waiting for too long...

Well yeah that's correct, but he is probably sitting on some information and inserted the "bump" to get us talking, until he is given the go ahead to tell us what he knows. Thats' my theory, at least.
