Personally I wouldn't be surprised if Skull came back in the Avengers. Watch his "death" scene in CA and it looks like he is teleporting just like how the characters in Thor teleported. But yeah I'd expect to see either him or Winter Solider in CA2.

I think he'll be back in CAPTAIN AMERICA III if they continue the franchise.

I think Weaving said he is tired of playing these types of movies and characters. So I think he doesn't want to do Sci Fi bad guys anymore like Agent Smith, Red Skull, V, and other movies like that. So I doubt he will return unless they cast a different actor to play him, but would that be good?

But, I think he is under contract for a sequel.

Well then, yeah, he will probably do it then. I just hope its not like the X-Films where the bad guy is always Magneto. He is a good bad guy but Cap has others too.

If the Skull comes back, he has better be far more evil like he is the comics. I think they kinda ruined the Skull in the first movie by distancing him from the Nazis too quickly. In the comics, Red Skull only gave up on Nazism decades later, feeling it had become outdated, but the Skull was still a Nazi in WWII and was Hitler's second in command, so he was fully involved with the crimes the Nazis committed. In the movie, that wasn't the case, so it made the Skull seem far less evil then he was in the comics.

Hydra and the Skull failed to do anything, Red Skull not being involved in the crimes of the Third Reich made him less evil not more. Red Skull didn't commit any truly evil acts of personal sadism that his comic book counter part committed. Red Skull in the movies was kinda of punk, he never had a clear victor over Cap and kept on running away. You don't get points for effort with evil, you either succeed in committing evil deeds or you fail and failing to be evil isn't very scary. Sebastian Shaw in the movies was a far more evil Nazi style villain then the Skull was. Shaw killing Magneto's mother right before his eyes is far more evil then anything the Skull did in the movies. |

I think the Skull should make an appearance at the end of the Avengers or CA2.
And when he does return he definitely needs to be more sinister and have a longer more brutal fight scene with the Cap. |

I would love to see him return. Though his character didn't have the greatest depth, I did enjoy Weaving's performance. I don't know how likely he is to return though, but if he does I would want to see the Red Skull explored more as a character.

I can see him returning with more power and a stronger army.

I'd love to see some sort of an homage to that famous no dialogue story that gives you a look inside the head of Skull and how he sees everyone except himself as faceless.

I hope he returns at somepoint I'm really interested to know what actually happened to him. It looked like he ended up on Asgaard.

Maybe not Asgard but what about another of the 9 realms?

Which begs the question, what has he been up to? I think answering that question may be a problem because you need the answer to be something that doesn't seem silly for him as a character. Sort of like you wouldn't have a movie where Spider-man flies a spaceship to take on Annihilus (at least not in his own movie).
Though they could just get around it by going the 90's Spider-man cartoon route and have it where he's essentially teleported from that moment to whenever they need him for a sequel or whatever. I don't really recall what the device was in the 90's cartoon, but it seemed vaguely teleport-ish and both he and Cap were stuck in it (and funnily enough would go back into until they were needed). |

In the comics what happened to Red Skull between World War II and the time Cap woke up from his frozen state?

In Spider-Man:TAS it was just an inter-dimensional machine that Cap and Skull were trapped in. They never had a specific name for it. Anyway In the series Red Skull had a son who freed Skull(along with Cap). at the end of that arc, Captain America sacrificed himself and took skull back into the machine where my guess is they were just frozen in time in another dimension for all time.

Yep.
"Electro" was the ultimate weapon. Not sure who was supposed don that persona in ww2 though but yeah it was his son. Plus, he had the red-skull bots which were kind of cool.

I'm thinking Red Skull is currently chilling out with
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Think about it, his thing in CA was how he was a God, and how he left mortal men behind, what better way to bring him back than for him to be a slave to an actual immortal being, with true unlimited power. I think it would be awesome. I can see it in my head Last edited by Spider-Fan; 05-05-2012 at 09:10 AM. |
