Like i said, he could have a benefactor backing him up like he was to Vanko. He has the motive, the thirst for revenge, but not the means. In comes the Ten Rings. Or something, i dunno.

Frankly I would rather see a new villain rather then Hammer again. I don't want the Iron Man movies to fall into the trap the Superman movies did, where Lex and Zod are the only villains from the comics who show up and every other villain is left by the wayside.

Yeah, but Hammer will not works as the villain but like a shadow figure, maybe he let use his technology or laboratories to create the Extremis. I don't know, there are so much ideas for bring back, also in a minor role, Hammer!

And, well, if you remember well Maya will in the end helps the Mandarin.

I think we're going round in circles here so I'll say this and move on......

You keep talking about Hammer's incompetence [and I get that to a degree because he was in certain portions of the movie] but anyone who manages to not only build Hammer Advanced Weapons Systems to become the main U.S. government defense contractor, as well as having the rescources [and balls] to spring such a high profile prisoner as Vanko out of jail has to have something about them.

It's certainly nothing that cant be built on, letting Sam exhibit a real ruthless streak [one that we saw glimpes of in IM2]. And it would be plausable.

Plus Hammer and the Ten Rings are already linked together. That makes two films with build up to a main baddie. Shane Black saying he doesn't want to use Mandarin because he's a "racist stereotype" is just lazy. So are hundreds of comic book characters from earliest days onward.

I could easily see Justin Hammer hooking up with someone like Ghost or Spymaster or Madame Masque in prison. Especially since, as an ultra-rich uber-powerful defense contractor, he's bound to be coddled in a country-club "prison" instead of some supermax, in with general pop.

I think Hammer would make a great returning mastermind to match wits with Tony.


Oh, and also I think a few of you may have taken the Val Kilmer joke a little too literally...

There's a part of me who wants to see Justin Hammer back only because I felt his final scene was..anti-climatic. That and I love Sam Rockwell. But at the same time, I don't want his return to be contrived.

And I seriously wouldn't worry too much about IM3. It'll make its money.

I don't think IM needs to worry about Oblivion the week before as much as it does the ass-kicking it's likely to take over the next two weekends from Pacific Rim and Trek 2. Not to mention Fast 6....speaking of.

Fast Five the the latest installment of a proven franchise. Oblivion is nothing. We get anywhere between 60 - 100 theatrical releases between April and July, no movie opens without some competition.


And what exactly did Fast Five do to Thor? It still opened as the #1 movie for it's weekend.

Hmm, I know Feige said they wanted to use the Hellicarrier set again, guess that means Black Widow will be making another appearance again.

Plus she's got a 9-pic contract with Marvel Studios, so guess this will count as one of them.

I also remember reading that Iron Man 3 was supposed to be like a techno spy-thriller or something like that. If that still stands, then Widow appearing makes perfect sense.
