Just wondering if there is anyone else who still doesn't have a smartphone?
To be honest, i'm still on the fence. I LOVE the menu systems. Touchscreens have always been my favorite way to navigate...it's why I sold my old Ipod for an Ipod touch. But...$30 for a data plan...may not be worth it for me. I don't really want to surf the web on a tiny screen, nor do I want to watch movies or TV shows on a tiny screen. I have a PC for web surfing and a nice entertainment system for movies and TV... And I can play games on my Ipod touch...because if I played games on my phone, my battery would die too fast. So...i'm really on the fence. I love the navigation...but I don't see myself using many of the other features.

I'm with you there. I also don't have a smartphone. But I heard that once you get one, you wouldn't want to go back to ordinary phones. And also, I hear that it really comes in handy, especially the navigation and Internet usage. If you don't mind the monthly payment, I say go for it. lol

I have one for about a year now. Touchscreen is great of course, and internet and navigation really do come in handy. I don't use many of the other features, including games. I only play 2 or 3 games, and the rest I get sick of fast. The thing is, you don't HAVE to use all the features all the time. When I got my smartphone, I didn't think I'd be using Google Maps (I use Android) but there have been some situations where it really saved me a lot of time.
I use internet all the time, but not for ''surfing''. It's extremely useful if you just want to look up one particular thing and don't want to start up your laptop. I also use Twitter extensively, so yeah ![]() I say go for it. I had my doubts too, but I really wouldn't want to go back to an old phone. |

I use my iPhone constantly all day. The thing is, I'm hardly ever in a situation where it isn't plugged in or I can't do so easily. At work it's plugged into the computer and when I'm driving it's plugged in. If for some reason the power is low at home, I just plug it in on that computer and it charges quick. When I am streaming content without it plugged in, I don't even find that it drains all that fast. My wife's HTC drains absurdly fast though.

I have a smartphone that's collecting dust at the moment as I'm using my old Nokia instead, better reception, size and battery. Sure it can be fun to play games and surf the web while on the go but I have a computer at home for that. Don't think I will switch back to smartphones anytime soon.

What the OP said is win. Not only would I have to crank out 600 dollars for an Iphone but to add insult to injury I would need to also pay bookoo bucks for the data plan. I think not few!

I don't have a smartphone and I don't need one. I honestly wouldn't use all the features it has and the cost is too much for something I wouldn't use regularly.

Getting an iPhone was one of the smartest purchases I have ever made. I use it all the time and it's extremely handy.
