First report of production start:

There appears to be a resolution to the question of whether 20th Century Fox and Lionsgate will fight over the services of in-demand actress Jennifer Lawrence.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Fox is informing talent agencies Thursday that the studio plans to begin shooting its in-development sequel to X-Men: First Class in January. That means Lionsgate could move forward with an August-September start date for the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire without a conflict for Lawrence, who is set to star in both.

As THR previously reported, tensions between the studios were running high last month as Fox was considering filming the Matthew Vaughn-directed X-Men follow-up in the fall, potentially conflicting with Lionsgate's plans for Hunger Games. Fox, which cast Lawrence as the shape-shifting character Mystique in Summer 2010, months before Lionsgate chose her to play Katniss Everdeen in March 2011, has the right to exercise the option on her contract if it conflicts with another Hunger. That's true even though Lawrence is part of a large ensemble in X-Men but is the clear star of the Hunger franchise.
Fox's acquiescence isn't a total win for Liosngate. One source says the Hunger Games studio would have liked to "hold" all the actors for seven months in connection with shooting Catching Fire. But that lengthy demand (typical holds are months shorter) is said to have been dropped amid complaints by interested parties, including Fox.

Next up for Lionsgate is settling on who will actually direct the Hunger Games follow-up. As THR reported on Wednesday, Gary Ross, who co-wrote and directed the first film, does not have a deal for the second. The heated negotiation leaves open the possibility that another filmmaker could be hired to shepherd the next installment in the franchise, as happened on the mega-grossing Twilight. But sources close to the dealmaking expect Ross to stay with the franchise he helped launch.

X-Men: First Class Sequel to Shoot in January

Heat Vision reports that Twentieth Century Fox plans on beginning the shoot for its X-Men: First Class sequel in January, meaning that there will be no conflict over Jennifer Lawrence with Lionsgate over the filming of The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire.

The trade says that Fox was originally planning on filming the Matthew Vaughn-directed "X-Men" follow-up this fall, which would have conflicted with Lawrence's Catching Fire, a movie Lionsgate is targeting for an August-September start date. If that had happened, however, Fox would have won out considering the studio would have been able to exercise the sequel option on her contract, which she signed before her "Hunger Games" deal.

Lawrence will reprise her role of Mystique and is expected to be joined again by the likes of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Nicholas Hoult, Caleb Landry Jones and Lucas Till.

It appears Rose Byrne will be back.She was one I wasn't sure about.And despite some's
hope they are bringing back January Jones.

I am sure Jason Flemying will be back.He shows up In all of Matthew Vaughn's films and Jane Goldman recently hinted at that.

We will have to wait to see If Zoe Kravitz,and Alex Gonzalez return.

Michael Fassbender and Jennifer are very big now. The sequel could bring in more money and we could see many sequels to come.

I believe the movie would focus on these 2 characters. Jason and Alex's characters could be killed off etc.

They could kill Xavier too, or put him in a coma for the next two films, how about this? Better than to leave him on a corner in a wheelchair because he's "useless".

Yes! The speculation about Avengers is ending, so it is now time for my original love to take wing, X MEN.
It's good to know that Jennifer Lawrence will be continuing her role. I apsoutly love her as an actress (not a big fan on Mystique...or at least how she's been written in the not too distant past)

First Class showed how Erik took huge steps to being the one and only Magneto. In the sequel I wanna see both X and Mystique take huge steps towards becoming their final versions too.

Anyway, really stoked for this sequel. First Class is great and as Vaughn has said now they can start having even more fun with the characters.

Tom Rothman has confirmed filming begins In January.

Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman are confirmed to be working on script now.

It will be coming out eather November/December 2013 or Summer 2014
