I actually like the upgrade system. I wish i was working on upgrading my weapons way before i beat the game.
One thing i hated was the silent realm........ i didn't get it........ there are a lot Twilight Princess moments and game mechanics, and at least in TP, the Twilight realm makes sense. That silent realm annoyed the crap out of me, and gave me stress

Yeah, I hated the silent realm too. It's just a rip off from the DS games and it was crap in them too.

Finally beat this game. Had to get the Hylian shield from the boss rush mode first and then beat the boss first time.

I just beat it.
The ending is utterly fantastic. From the final temple right up until the end I was having a ball. But I was disappointed in the lack of distinct areas in the game, and how it leaned heavily on the wood, fire and desert themes. The hub world idea is cool but I would have liked the second set of temples to take place in new lands entirely, not just retread old ground. I didn't get along with the motion controls at all, either. They're just no as reliable as a solid button press. If anything, Skyward Sword was the game to prove that they're not for me. An enjoyable experience, then. Better than Twilight Princess but not a patch on Wind Waker of Ocarina of Time still.

Final boss is a simple if you have enough guardian potion plus bottles...

I beat the final boss without using any potions or fairies. I did have all of my heart containers and the two heart medals, though.
I thought the Demise fight was stupidly easy. You just whacked him with your sword a bunch. The Ghirahim prefinal boss fight was harder. They should've incorporated some of the other items like the bow into the fight.

i'm actually playing Twilight Princess right now from the start. In terms of graphics, Twilight Princess is beast, looks great on a big screen HDTV. One thing that is good in Skyward is definately the one-to-one motion control.
I found the worlds in TP much larger in scale and various than in Skyward's tactic of visiting the same areas over and over again. |

I thought Skyward Sword has a decent scale. The world was just largely empty. None of the races had cities. Ocarina of Time still feels the largest, probably because it was such a dramatic shift from A Link to the Past. And nostalgia.

^ Actually that's one of my issues too. I get that the people were sent to the sky so things on Earth deteriorated, but there was no central Mogma, or Goron facility. Lanayru atleast was deserted, and felt like no one should've been there.
If you're going to have Goron's wandering about researching history it'd be nice to see where they came from and what kind of society evolved.

I just finished Sky Temple in Twilight Princess. Again, i loved the world in TP, it's huge and well organized. What Skyward had going for is probably the 1:1 motion controls.

I just finished the game, and I loved it! For me it was better than Twilight Princess. While I also loved TP, I found that its artistic style tried to balance gritty realism with goofy Zelda characters, resulting in some really ugly designs for minor characters. It's world was just not a lot of fun, unlike OoT which balanced fun and seriousness pretty well. And TP didn't offer any new memorable or interesting supporting characters aside from Zant and Midna.
The first, like 15%, of TP is also brutal. I found it very dull and hard to get into, especially because of how awful it was to play as a wolf. I like how many things SS added to gameplay, and its definitely going to be hard to play a Zelda game that doesn't have those controls. I feel like some of the criticisms of Skyward Sword are a little unfair. It does have a number of mini-games and side-quests and characters to interact with. There's fun island, the bug catching game, the bamboo cutting came, and the arrow game. The gratuity crystal side-quest was a fun way to get us to engage with different characters, and the goddess cubes give exploration a purpose, along with upgrading your equipment. The characters and the story were really strong. Zelda and Link had an actual relationship, with Zelda filling an interesting and important role. Ghirahim was a fantastic villain, because he was both very entertaining and intimidating. And the story had some plot twists that I felt like I should have seen coming before hand, but i didn't lol. I also really liked Impa, and other random things like the exploring Goron. The Kikwi and the robots were awesome, too. They are actually endearing and fun. Hated the Mogma though.

I'd really like a new game for the 3DS using the OoT 3D engine. But it's not going to happen.

I would really love a new 2D game, but I don't care if it's related to LTTP or not.

I think Miyamoto officially has Stan Lee syndrome.

Why? Because he wants to make a game that has some connection to the 2nd best Zelda game?

Ocarina of Time actually started out as a being a glorified remake of A Link to the Past, much like how Star Fox 64 was a remake of Star Fox (for the SNES). Though they changed direction several times in the early stages of development.
But A Link to the Past seems to have been Miyamoto's favorite Zelda title. |

Because he can't help but live in the past. As great as Link to the Past was, the fact that he's still thinking remakes over new territory speaks volumes.

"Last year Nintendo's most respected developer told us that Link's 1991 outing, which he produced, would be his first choice for a 3DS remake. Speaking to us in Paris yesterday, we asked if that was still the case - and while he said it was, it seems he's been thinking about a new game in the same style, rather than a remake." |
