Fury had some real badass moments throughout the film. Jumping from a crippled helicopter, shooting at Loki, shooting down a SHIELD jet with an RPG, etc.

It's one of the reasons why I wish Whedon had directed IM2, because despite Stark's health problems and self-destructive issues, I feel that the movie did not do enough to make him sympathetic like the first IM movie did. Just re-visited IM2 last night. It wasn't as "bad" as I remembered it. It's an ok superhero movie. But it's no_where_near the awesomeness of the first Iron man film! Nor is it just as good either. IM2 had too many weird, kinda campy scenes in it. The Tony Stark in the suit, playing DJ and going ballistic at his own birthday party was just dumb, and felt like something campy along the lines of Tobey's tango dance in Spidey 3. It just didn't follow in the same kind of pattern as the first film did. It wasn't near as stylish or badass as the first. And there wasn't enough suit time. That's a shame. But it's an O_k movie.

I agree! not to mention that their battle with Whiplash was too short.

And Whiplash didn't feel like any sort of threat. Iron Man has yet to, IMO, face any real threat in his solo films. I hope the rectify that in IM3

Yeah, that too! Even the first encounter at the race. They spend like 5 minutes getting the suit to Tony, driving all over the place. And ones he finally got it on, he was thrown back and forth like a rag-doll and the thing ended a 1 minute later.

There was just something really campy about Rhodey putting on that Mark-1 suit and going up against Tony during that party. Even the dialog spoken. And Iron Man eating a donut inside the giant donut... too much! It's like. When the hell did this become camp? .. I thought the aspect of Tony dying and having a meltdown was a great thing to add. It's just the way they handled his meltdown that ended up being a real letdown, instead. The things about his father and that connection was great though.

Anyway. Back to Avengers

Seriously. They don't even need to put Iron Man up against a super villain in "3". Just send him to afghanistan, having him go on missions there! Some of the coolest **** for me in IM 1, was when he's first revealed and kicks ass in "outlandish-land"! Something so raw and real about it.

Does Captain America have a conversation or even mention to Tony how he knew his father and what he was like?

Not really, no. I think that may be in the deleted scenes that we'll see on DVD/Blu-Ray.

I thought it looked perfectly fine. The helmet never distracted me, I never found myself even thinking about it. But I must confess that I was one of the few who has never had a problem with it, so other viewers might disagree with me.
