However, I think this new interpretation (aka movie Hawkeye) of Hawkeye is being portrayed much closer to a Daredevil or Iron Fist type of grittiness than his more classic interpretation. So I'm thinking it'll fit win that.

I don't agree with that either. I think he could totally do Avengers Hawkeye. IIF had some huge action scenes and he pulled it off beautifully. Sure, his art is more suited to a Daredevil but I've always liked when guys like Lark and Maleev step out of their comfort zones.

Hawkeye sounds weird in his narration and dialogue. Like he's kind of an idiot. But I'm coming to realize that's just Fraction's style.

eh, the main draw for me is the artwork since I've lost all faith on Fraction.

That preview didn't really show us anything. The art looks nice though, which is a big draw for me. I'll at least give it a skim.

I'll get the book. I've been more and more interested in Hawkeye as a character. So I'll try it! Like I said-- Fraction and Aja on Iron Fist became one of my favorite books. I'm hoping he will do it again with Hawkeye.

So, there's just going to be a period where Clint's out of commission for a month and a half?

I can't tell you how excited I am for this. Both Hawkeyes are up there in my top 30 favourite MU characters.

I hate Fraction's writing usually, but I kind of dug this first issue.

This issue was terrible. I want to go into a Dread/Gambit8370 type rant but I won't. I'll just say that whoever that guy was in this comic was not Clint Barton. The Clint Barton I know and love (In my personal top 45
) is not some amateur hour ***** like in this comic. The man has been personally trained by Captain America. Has lead the Avengers. Has dealt with universal threats. He can't deal with some Russian mobsters, bro? Ridiculous. Fraction needs to do some ****ing research on the characters he writes because he pulled the same **** with Thor. This is not the Clint Barton we deserve and definitely not the one we need right now.

I wasn't that big on it either. My biggest complaint was that Kate wasn't in the issue as promised for this series. If she doesn't come in soon I'm likely going to drop it. The story itself wasn't good enough for me to care about it.

I think she's coming in at issue #3. I don't think they ever said she was going to be a co-star or anything. Just that she would show up.

I like him in team settings, but then they put him on 3 or 4 teams and I got burnt out very quickly. Just like with Deadpool and Wolverine before him.

Yeah because Hawkeye has been in as many books as Wolverine....

Avengers
New Avengers (majority of the current run as a guest star) Secret Avengers Avengers Assemble And now his ongoing title. Previous to that he was in that other book staring him... whatever that was called. Spotlight or whatever. So yeah, that's every Avenger book... he's a member or might as well be. And who says you have to be up to Wolverine numbers to get burnt out on them?

I really liked the first issue. Marvel has always had characters that sound interesting to me but then I find they're only on team books so I give up because I don't care about the rest of the team. But then they bring out Hawkeye #1.
The cover instantly drew towards it. It's a beautiful cover. The art inside is also very nice. Has a nice bit of, I suppose th word is "grit" to it. It's the sort of art I'd expect to see in 2000AD over a Marvel book. The story was a nice done in one issue that I enjoyed. It's rare that you find those these days and it's refreshing to have a book you can read on the train home from the comic shop where you get the full story. I liked it enough to give the next issue a shot and I'll take it from there. Given my recent turn to DC, having dropped all but Deadpool from Marvel, I'll be interested to see if anything else catches my eye.

She's co-starring from everything I've read, just isn't showing up till issue #3 or #4 (whichever one she's on the cover for).
