A trailer has leaked for the still officially unannounced sequel to Rayman Origins.
Ubisoft has come out and said that some of the stuff in the trailer is just proof of concept and the trailer itself was just for internal use, it was never meant to be seen by the public, the footage doesn't represent the final game, blah blah blah. In case the trailer gets taken down, the gameplay looks like what you would expect from a Rayman Origins sequel. Visually the game seems a lot more drab and washed out than Origins, which is definitely a bummer, but it appears to have some pretty impressive lighting though, and seems to have more 3D elements as well. Feature-wise it's going to have more playable characters, online play, and the Wii U version features object scanning.

This is why:

I wasn't a big fan of the last Rayman 2D game (forget the name) but the demo of Legends was fun. Given the lack of anything good on the WiiU (I hate NSMBU), I probably would have bought this. Now, I have no interest to give them my money.

I really dont think releasing it now on the Wii U would take away from 360/PS3 sales. I guess it makes sense from a business end so they can advertise them all at the same time instead of spending money promoting months apart.

Why would I want it in 7 months when I'm going to have other games I want to play more?

Fair enough I guess, but I don't see why you have to choose.

I don't see why I have to wait 7 months if it's ready for the WiiU now.

Because Ubisoft decided to delay it. It's not the first time a game has been delayed. It's not the first time a game has been delayed in service of a simultaneous multiplatform launch. Get over it.
Besides, I get the feeling it's not the delay that's really bothering you.

I can understand a Wii U owner's frustration, but it definitely wouldn't strike it from my purchases. Origins came out at a really busy time and I still picked that up.
I wouldn't say **** Ubi for a backtrack on Wii U loyalty though. They are like the sole mainstream third party publisher to give the system exclusives.

I think it's a dick move whenever a company says a game is going to be exclusive and then ends up releasing it on other platforms. Nintendo, Sony, MS, whatever.

Why? Unless they cancel the original "exclusive" version, I just can't wrap my head around why people value exclusivity so much.

Unless Nintendo paid Ubisoft a lump sum of money to go exclusive, they can do whatever they want with their game. Seriously it doesnt make a whole lot of sense for any third party who isnt having their project funded by Nintendo to be exclusive unless the game specificaly requires the tablet hardware to remain exclusive on the Wii U right now
No offense, but they dont care about you. They may have lost you as a potential buyer but just gained a few million potential more with the 360/PS3 crowd which is FAR larger than the very minute Wii-U user base. They're not gonna feel or be too worried about the loss of your $60. They just made the best financial decision for themselves Last edited by Havok83; 02-09-2013 at 07:13 PM. |

From everything I've seen about the game it'll be just like Rayman Origins which is a lot like NSMBU, so you probably wouldn't like it anyway. So it's probably good they pissed you off enough not to buy it by delaying it, they saved you from buying a game you wouldn't want.

I guess people shouldn't complain too much about the delay as it resulted in 30 new levels

Rayman is part of my DNA. The first Rayman was my favorite game as a child and when Rayman 2 came out it changed my life. The series was the most fun, creative thing ever. Then along came Rayman 3...then Rabbids...
![]() Rayman Origins saved my beloved series by bringing it back to its roots. Rayman Legends is my most anticipated game of the year. So happy to hear about tons of new levels too!
