I'm not sure if ASM was rushed.

I know who ACTUALLY saved Fox's DAREDEVIL reboot with a 3-week rewrite that convinced the studio to renew its option on the rights. #OTR

No but Sony's film division has been teetering on the edge of bankruptcy for awhile now. If it collapses that could very well happen.

That's inaccurate. Spidey 4 was already casting and greenlit (far beyond progress than what the f4 and dd reboots are) Sony was in no danger of losing the rights

I'll believe it when I see it (the film). I don't give a crap about twitter announcements. It's not a press release either.

Also last I checked fox doesn't Renew the rights, they renew automatically when a film is in production. There's only a decision to let the rights relapse

Yes the characters were there from the Xmen but it wasn't accurate period. Shaw was part of Nazis? Since when? He's now older then Prof X and Magneto? Why was Shaw even used when you had a rich classic Xmen villain known as Sinister who actually sided with the Nazis for scientific purposes and he did actually have a connection with a young Magneto in those Death Camps. So for some reason i can not get FOX decides to just throw the villain who actually was there in that time period out to use Shaw?

Emma is now Xavier and Mags age? Really? The hellfire club was crap and in name only working outta of a Casino in Vegas. Where were the rest of them? No Mastermind. Shaw manipulations gave birth to one of the greatest Xmen arcs. Dark Phoenix. Alex Summers/Havoc was who? Scott's father? Certainly it could n't be his brother but then again who knows for certain. What was he doing there? I could accept both Beast and Banshee being there because they were older then the classic Xmen, especially Banshee. Mystique having a connection to Xavier and even Xavier getting crippled the way he did was all fine for me.

I'm sure you are probably gonna scream not everything can be like the comics and what not and you'll be right, but This was a complete 180 from the source material and I just saw no logical reason what so ever to drastically alter the characters for a movie adaption. I'm all for and can get behind changes and believe me I've been a defender of changes in movie adaptions when so many Bit(he'd and moaned because they are needed to make a movie more translatable in some cases but hereI didn't get it. I really tried to view it from a logical standpoint and i saw no reason that made any sense.

F42 was an improvement over the first. That's my opinion.
I liked Shaw being a Nazi, it made him more evil then he was the comics, he was kinda generic evil business man villain in the comics, mostly overshadowed by other members of the X-Men's rogues gallery.

I had no problem with Charles and Mangeto as young men in the same era as Shaw and Emma Frost, they wouldn't have had the time to fit all those characters into the original trilogy, so this gives them the chance to shine in these prequels is a good way to go. They already did the Dark Phoenix story in the movies, so they had to have the Hellfire Club do something else and I doubt the movie would have better or worse in Mastermind had been a member of the Hellfire Club.

Besides Most of the Marvel Studio movies have changed details from the comics, Whiplash was completely different from what he was in the comics, Stane was never Stark's mentor in the comics, Red Skull wasn't the leader of Hydra in the comics, etc. So even movies made by Marvel studios themselves have some changes to the source materials. Heck the source material itself changes over time, with Stark's first being created in Vietnam being changed to being created in Afghanistan.

Well X-Men First Class was not an exact translation of the comics on the screen but it did translate the message and the spirit of X-Men on the screen and that is the most important thing in my books.

Red Skull in the movies isn't nearly as evil or sinister as he was in the comics. In the comics he is a racist hate filled psychopath, more motivated by hate then a desire for power. In the movie, he is just another power mad James bond villain, that's not nearly as interesting. The movie version did not feel like the comic book version, he didn't feel like he was pure evil like was in the comics.

Red Skull was equally matched in strength with Steve and had the Cosmic Cube yet he spent the movie running away from him and in the end he defeated himself, you really can't think of a better way to portray him? Doom wasn't done very well but at least he went after the Fantastic Four.

For all the whining people do about FANTASTIC FOUR's portrayal of Doom...he was a better written and more interesting character than CAPTAIN AMERICA's take on The Red Skull.

Maybe, but he was still a piss poor imitation of the real Victor Von Doom.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Red Skull was toned down to fit in with Cap's classic serial feel. They were never going to show the Skull eating babies or whatever it is people seem to want him to do onscreen. And if what people are saying about Loki in Avengers is true I'd expect a modern day Red Skull to be much nastier should he have a further appearance.

Also, the Red Skull didn't play Marco Polo.

Red Skull wasn't given much to do and had simple motivations.

Dr Doom was given embarrassing things to do and had embarrassing motivations.

Red Skull was an underdeveloped character. Dr Doom was an insult to a great character.
