yeah, they got to up the ante a little more now, but i suppose this is always the case with sequels. But i must admit, i really like how Marvel are taking control of their characters. i just wish they could get back ownership for the ones FOX are trampling over.

All I know is, they have to improve the spectacle and action in Iron Man, Thor, and Cap's solo movies. The Avengers had a perfect blend of character and spectacle that I would like to continue in the solo movies. The fact that the characters had better and more detailed action scenes in a team movie than in their solo movies is ridiculous.

the fact might be, but was a huge win for the audience. that was the first movie i seen this year though that felt was worth the price of admission.

3 years is way to fast. The Avengers should an event. Something you wait for. Something you want. Putting a sequel out just 3 years after the first: epic fail! And of course there is this thing with the expanision of the MCU. How much expansion can there be, if there are no new introductions to the universe because they half assed the job and rushed the Avengers sequel? no thanks. 2016/17 should be the earliest date for number 2.

What's really exciting is that he will have a bigger budget and ample time to craft a perfect screenplay.

And remember that just because a movie is within the MCU doesnt mean it has to tie directly to the Avengers.

I hope they keep Joss, and don't pull their usual cheap switcharoo.

More likely I can see them working their rears off to get Thor to July again but maybe they like the 6 month gap between each installment. Like a soap opera or an event comic.

You know perfectly well that I neither said nor implied that.

I think 4 years can be a bit long if thats what its been since the first Star Trek. I think buzz on that one would have been bigger if it had been out earlier as that was a very well received movie but eventually people kind of move on a bit.
That being said for Gods sake why would you want to "fast track" this thing? Its going to be a mega hit, most people are going to be working on solo films in the interim etc. Let the people involved and the audiences have a bit of a break. Fortunately i think its clear that Marvel is playing a pretty long game with this and is focussed on fitting The Avengers franchise in with the solo films rather than trying to spit a few out and making everybody sick of the whole thing. Im more worried about having IM3/Thor 2/Cap 2 be good and not souring people on the concept and on whether Marvel hires someone like Zak Penn to write Avengers 2 and then gets Brett Rattner to direct it. Im really not convinced we will get Joss back. |

looks like the possibility of another Hulk, is true:-)
Forbes have posted an article on Marvel's 5 year build up to The Avengers, which includes some very interesting quotes from Marvel's Paul Gitter. It seems that despite Kevin Feige seemingly dismissing the idea of another solo movie outing for The Hulk, strong fan reaction to Mark Ruffalo's take on Bruce Banner and his CG alter ego may have them thinking twice. Gitter says Marvel are “pleasantly surprised by the phenomenal response. His [Hulk's] sales are up in a major way. We repositioned him from where he was always misunderstood to now depicting him in a more heroic and aspirational If the Hulk’s successful turnaround continues, Gitter says Marvel will 'spin him off to a stand-alone [TV] program next year,' supported by a big budget franchise movie in 2015." took this from cbm.com |

Sure that's best case scenario and everything doesn't mean it will materialize.

I'm in no rush. The first one was well worth the wait. I like the 4-5 year intervals adding to the event feel of it kind of like the Olympics.
