They could tease Surtur in Thor 2 just like Walt Simonson did in the comics:

You see a huge, and I mean really HUGE figure in the shadows, forging a gigantic sword. Every time when the hammer comes down you hear a mighty DOOOOOM!
Then, the scene gets more a little bit more light and we get to see what is behind that big figure: an army. An army of demons strechting to the horizon. They are millions.

And then, Thor 3 reveals... Surtur, his sword Twilight and the Sons of Muspel!

I'm really excited about the more viking feel Hemsworth has been talking about.

As much as I like Kenneth's Thor, I think he's barely touched the surface of how epic, majestic, grand and mind blowing a Thor movie could be. Here's to hoping Alan Taylor will deliver more than a generic superhero movie.

Didn't see this posted. It's a bit what we've heard but Hiddleston speaks a bit more about what he wants for Loki in Thor 2.

After facing off in this weekend’s The Avengers, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) will be heading off to battle each other yet again in Thor 2. At a recent press day, Hiddleston dropped a few details on what’s coming for the brothers.

It’s part of the thrill of the character, and the thrill of the Thor character in a way, is that Thor and Loki are defined by each other. [...] Thor’s reason for being in The Avengers is that Loki is down there [on Earth] so he has to come and get him back. I think what’ll be interesting about Thor 2 is how it takes what happens in The Avengers as a springboard for then what happens in that film.

Hiddleston added Asgard would factor into the sequel, and that Thor’s budding romance with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) would also be “extended and expanded and developed in an interesting new way.” But what he really wants to see at some point is a redemption for his character and a reconciliation for the family, as he told Collider in a separate interview:

I think I’m most excited about really taking the relationship between Loki and Thor to another level. [...] What interests me, and I think Chris too, is what’s Odin going to say about all of this, and about what happened in The Avengers? Can Odin and Thor find forgiveness for Loki in their own hearts? Can Loki accept that forgiveness? Can he forgive himself? What would it take to bring Loki back from the brink, from the dark side?

Considering GR is my 2nd favorite superhero I'm pretty glad, I definately want to see a properly done Mephisto.

It's definately not to soon, as matter of fact I was hoping for Thor to fight him in the final fight of the film.

He's powerful enough to push Thor well beyond his limits, plus he's a good reason for Thor to pull out an "Anti Force" blast.

Anyone think we will see Odin be killed, and Thor inherit the Odinforce in the MCU? I am still not totally disbelieving the idea that thanos could have a small part (being cameo, nothing plot related) in a Thor movie, possibly killing Odin?

Yes BigThor, I know Odin is more powerful, but the whole "What kind of dark energy did the AllFather muster up" could be something that weakened Odin, allowing Thanos to kill him, or someone like Surtur or Mangog to kill him.


I want to see Thor inherit the Odinforce, very badly haha
