I think Bale/Bruce has been pretty spot on in this trilogy. As a matter of fact, imo all of the main cast have been spot on. Oldman, Cain, Freeman, I mean they really did pick a great cast and in turn they have handed in some great characterizations for their roles.

Christian Bale has all the right everything when he's suited up as Bruce. And I really do enjoy his Batman. His voice in this last trailer seems just about right too.

His voice is definitely more pain than anger this time around, I hope his voice stays like that throughout the film , it certainly suits his character after all he's been through.

Not that it gave away much, but this trailer made me think that Bale will have juicy stuff to play with. That's good. I liked his subtle acting and character arc in TDK, but it's time to own the story again. The entire trailer was referring to/talking about/mentioning him. GOOD.

As for the voice... it's just 3 lines, however I think it's something between BB and TDK, which is not a bad thing. Obviously I'll have to wait for the whole thing to see if that's the case. I liked what I heard, though. And considering the only scene I hated the Batvoice was the very final confrontation with Joker, I'm more than fine.

Definitely.

I think what I said in my trailer review applies here too:

To me, it sounds like his "rising" will be two-fold: First, he has to get out of that depressed, "frozen in time" state that he's in with the help of Fox, Alfred and Tatelia and then he needs to get back up after he's emotionally and physically broken by Bane. GREAT stuff.

Indeed. He's got a mountain to climb in this one. Or a well.

Now that is awesome, kvz5!

Here's my little image of Bruce's progression:

Thanks, and yeah Bruce has definitely aged a lot in those 8 years. But around the time he comes back to really kick Bane's ass it seems like he fills out again and really gets his motivation back up.

I forgot about the bearded Bruce from the BB prison. Full circle indeed.

That is amazing. I love it. LOL you should put "preppy Bruce" at the very beginning. The one where he attended Chill's trial.

This is the best Bruce TDKR pic IMO. He looks healthy, strong, and a total badass. I'm just not sure where it fits in the story (is it post depressed Bruce or post imprisoned Bruce?)

My initial guess is post-depression but yeah I don't know... He looks so much healthier and in control there like he could whoop someone's ass just with that stare that it has to be post-imprisonment. That's exactly the look I imagined after he has retrained and is ready to reclaim Gotham from Bane.

He does look ready for action in that still. At this point, going on nothing, I'll guess that he's fit, clean shaven, sneaks back to Wayne Manor and activates the batsuit cases to emerge from the water. I don't think they will raid the Batcave at all, because if The Bat is parked in there, and going on the footage descriptions it is, why wouldn't Bane and his men destroy it?

Yeah, I think the Batcave is safe since he got his suit back (unless he got it at another secret location). I have a theory (that I posted in the CW thread) that maybe Bane's men were guarding The Bat in that rooftop and that's what Batman and Catwoman were trying to reclaim and hence the rooftop fight.

I don't think he has The Lobster, yet. I think he acquires it from Lucius during the present day, and not having it before the 8 years.

Eight years being frozen in time. Still with the batpod, one addition being the EMP gun but could've been added early after TDK. The police chase in the batpod is present day I think..so that could be the vehicle's first ride. Him in that still I'm guessing based on nothing is after he climbs out of the pit with his beard near the end.

I'm just going off the exchange between Catwoman and Batman. She doesn't understand what kind of vehicle it is, so I think it's a new vehicle. So, Bane could raid the batcave, but Batman may not have The Lobster, yet.

(*I quoted all of your post. I don't know why it clipped off the part I was responding to )

Maybe it's not that she doesn't necessarily understand/know what the vehicle is but just her comparing it to a car as a joke?

Sort of looks like he's in a wheelchair

but in the trailer he's just turning with the aid of his cane

The structure of this film is still a bit of a mystery to me. I mean, you can guess the basic three acts from what we've seen but there seems to be conflicting elements at play. I have no clue where the cane fits in. I'm thinking Nolan is going to push the nonlinear narrative further than we thought.

Then the joke fails even more in its context. If the joke is about her making a satirical nod to it being a car, and Batman just says, "its not a car", then it lays completely flat.

I am on Team Cane. It would be hilarious is Bruce is that much of a crazed hermit he gives it a name. Like Michael.
