I want a new reboot But no origins except done like in Incredible Hulk,A reboot could be great depending on the new direction of everything and story time-frame could be done like in Batman'89 where Batman had already been known of for a while But not established until the end!!

I want to see the murder of the Waynes and some stock footage of Bruce globe trotting for his training but not as detailed as Nolan did it.

I think it's going to be interesting seeing what the direction of the reboot is, I'm guessing the new director isn't going to want to have the tone/setting too close to Nolan's since this is coming right after (in terms of next, not as in like next year or something) and he/she probably won't want their film(s) overly compared to Nolan's. If I had to guess I would say the tone would be closer to TAS and its spinoffs (MOTP, Arkham games maybe), where it's still darker the Schumacher, but more action and gadget-y than mature character study. I would also guess there will be a good bit more CGI, which I would be fine with, as long as it is done well and serves the story rather than replaces it (i.e. Watchmen, not Transformers). This is, of course, purely wild surmise and just me spitballing. I'm also an idiot soooo......

i want the reboot to be sort of a mix between Nolan & Burton. have the template of the new films be based off the Arkham games. gritty and mixed w/ realism & fantasy. no origin because we all know how Bruce became Batman. if anything, perhaps a flashback the night his parents died during the opening credits or in the middle of the film like in Batman '89.
and oh, Jon Hamm for Bruce/Bats

I would honestly just do a straight up adaptation of the graphic novels of Batman, but the problem with that is they are doing that in animation form! Dark Knight Returns would be a fun inspired movie, but its in the works animated.... I would love to see Tim Burton's Batman 3, set as Michael Keaton as an old man , Frank Miller DKR inspired. But every Nolan Batman film seems to hate the Burton version. |

I would go with a universe that allows for the realism of the real world but crazy enough that would allow someone to become Mr Freeze.
The costume would be tights or at least similar to the Arkham Asylum costume

id like to see a batman movie thats more like the comics, hes out every night patrolling, more acrobatic fighting, more strinking from the shadows, more inhuman, not like b89 where he gets shot and just gets up but more like year one when flass describes him and makes him sound supernatural, thats how id want batman to be, DEFINETLY want to see the detective side shine through, we got bits of it in tdk but nowhere near "worlds greatest detective" status, i wanna see him take a thug into a corner and whisper something to him that makes the guy freak out and tell batman anything he wants to know, i wanna see the batman that knows every martial art, every science, every language, the guy with all the contingency plans; the ghost...

IF they take elements from each Bat films and put them into a new rebooted film then which ones would you hope for?For me..
B'89 elements-A kinda established Batman than full-out origin/Bruce having hunting flashbacks of his parents&their death/Type of Batmobile/Type of musical score Returns elements-Batsuit design(with different material)/Type of Gotham City/Use of heavy snow Forever elements-Mature and smart But serious&brooding and hunted past Bruce/Type of fighting skills/High-tech Bat cave/Type of Arkham Asylum B&R elements-Smarts&fighting skills of Bruce/Lots of gadgets&vehicles Begins elements-Leaving Gotham&training scenes(But in a flashback)/Type of Alfred/Wayne Enterprises TDK elements-A serious&"realistic"approach to a comic-book villain TDKR rises elements-Gotham being in a real threat to be completely destroyed/Batman working with a villainous character by the end to save Gotham&beating the odds(Catowman in the TDKR case) |

All of these ideas seem more of a regression of Batman than trying to better what Nolan did.
I'd rather they keep Batman as Oscar calibur material than try to go back to the comicbook movie stuff. It's the one and only advantage DC has over Marvel right now. |

In general, I would like a more literal interpretation of Batman comics. I've been on this board for seven years now, and during that time the reaction to this sentiment has always been 'what works in comicbooks won't work on the screen'. Well, now Marvel studios has pretty well answered that. I'm not really a fan of any particular Marvel movie, but I don't think anyone could deny that their reasonably literal interpretations of comicbook designs and situations works extremely well.
So, let's retain a thematically sophisticated script, and lets keep a gritty tone. But let's not also deprive ourselves needlessly of the things that make Batman cool. Give the characters their iconic costumes. Show us some poor terrified sap being chased off a catwalk and into a chemical bath by a looming, shadowy Batman. Make use of potentially great supporting characters like The Penguin, and don't adopt a tone that makes other more fanciful characters seem out of place. |

A different director should have a different approach, should have his signature, but also make an effort to make the films memorably good

Someone should make an original hero and do a strict crime drama then than using a HUGE comic-book character like Batman,Making a Batman film and not doing the source materials's mythology much justice is pretty BS!!

A crime/conspiracy movie starring The Question would be great.

A Question movie would be nice,And yeah Batman starting out in a new movie as already a myth would be great than doing the origins yet again(which could still be done in one flash back scene)!!

I want to see more Batman screen time and less villains, I think sometimes the problem is focusing too much on the villains and less on Batman!

Batman Begins & TDK shows Batman/Bruce plently on screen. I for one thought we got plently of Batman/Bruce in both films. Where's in 4 previous films focused on the villains.

This might just be a permanent problem: Where there are Batman movies, there will always be people saying there's not enough Batman and too much of his villains. I agree that Bruce/Batman get more than enough screentime, we get more than enough insight into him and development of him in the Chris Nolan movies.

I would LOVE it if the overly-pretentious, ultra-contemporary, "pseudo-realistic" stench of Chris Nolan's approach to the Batman mythology were banished forever from future Batman films.
Instead, I'd love to see an approach to the character (and Gotham city) that were far more old-world and GOTHIC. I'd like to see the Batman's look and modus operandi return to basics and move away from the over techy, overly sculpted, and laser-guided Robo-cop stuff. Likewise, I'd like to see LESS glass skycrapers, and MORE rain slick cobblestone streets, cathedrals, stone gargoyles, shadowy rooftops, alleys and fire escapes. I don't want Gothman City to look like an ultra-modern neon-lit city... Metropolis at night. It needs to look like a far older and more dangerous place... a garish circus side-show gone horribly wrong. I'd like the overall TEXTURES of a future Batman film to return to the natural and organic (Re: leather textures of The Batman's costume, stone textures of Gotham City) and AWAY from the artificial and synthetic (Re: rubber and plastics of the Batsuit, and metal and glass of Gotham city) |

New continuity that shouldn't be tied down to Nolan's. Let the director bring his own unique vision of Batman. Not only does it free it up, but if he wants to bring his own vision, that would interfere with Nolan's set one, plus it just mounts more expectation and gives more to the ridiculous idea of the "No one can top Nolan" nonsense.
Things I want: A DETECTIVE Batman where the movie is a straight up mystery and Batman has to solve it. All the past films have touched upon it which is fine and never bothered me. But to me Batman has always been a detective first. A more active Alfred. Gotham that doesn't look like a recognizeable city. Something European and gothic but and can be modern too. A combination of location, minatures, bigatures, and CG to create a place that you can see yourself going to, but one you can't find on a map. And I would LOVE to see a story set outside Gotham city. Make it Indiana Jones or Bond-ian in influences where Batman has to leave Gotham to track down a villain. Preferrably Ra's Al Ghul. Use Talia and take advantage of foreign locations. Batman riding a black horse culminating in a sword fight between Batman and Ra's surrounded by an exploding Lazarus pit. A new Batman and Robin dynamic and story. Reintroduce Robin to audiences where they love him again. People now have misconceptions of Robin and soon, it will be time to bring him back and make him loved again. It's not about relevancy. He's always been relevant. It's just B&R threw him back 50 years. If Nolan can come back and save Batman from B&R, Robin can be brought back too. All in all, just more of a Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams influence. Make Batman fun too while retaining his dark nature. It's possible.

I'm sick of seeing the entire city of Gotham in peril. Scale it back. Make it about Batman investigating a child's murder or something similar. And let's have a quick montage of Batman out on one of his nightly patrols, taking down muggers, rapists, etc.
