They weren't terrible movies. They weren't even bad. But I found them lacking. But then Raimi had the challenge of making Spider-man work in live action. That's not an easy task, especially in those days. So, I'll give him credit for pulling it off.

But the movies were rather unambitious. Very little planning for sequels. It lacked vision. At least, ambitious vision. There were also many things I simply didn't like, such as the hokey dialogue, the characterizations (though that got much worse in the sequels), and the "villains".

If you're wondering what I mean by ambitious, think trying to turn Spider-man's entire world into live action. Cumulating with a movie with the Sinister Six (perhaps for the third movie), with most of the characters having already been established in the first two.

I completely agree with everything you said there! :up: I'm glad we're getting this one instead of another Raimi Spider-Man this time!

I think Spider-Man is good and is a bit underrated. Definitely the best in the series if you ask me. IMO, Spider-Man 2 is watchable, has its good moments, but is overall an annoying film, and Spider-Man 3 is good in the first half, horrible in the second.

I do agree with the whole, "very little planning for sequels". The whole Sandman killing Ben seemed desperate to me to establish a link between him and Spider-Man. This seems better since Webb said the story about his parents wouldn't be answered in the first film, and that Oscorp might be in every movie.

Yeah, that was so stupid... and when Sandman revealed how it actually played out, it became even more ridiculous! "I held a gun, then my friend came and gave a pat on my back, and that made me accidently shoot him! =O"

I'm thrilled with all of the Spidey action. They way he moves while swinging around the city and using his web as a weapon/tool while fighting (short bursts to pop up and kick Lizard).

Yeah, sad that people are taking the speculation of Ang Leeing Spidey as fact im Hyped for this movie

Doesn't really sound so weird if their lives were in danger and that they knew they would probably die.

Maybe Richard wanted to hide the Arachnid genome Formula from Oscorp after he found out why they wanted with it, but the only was to leave no trace of the formula was giving it to Peter BUT then he left the uncompleted formula in his breefcase and then Peter helps complete the formula with Lizard DNA with Doctor Connors. That´s a possibility

That's what I'm thinking. In the Ultimate comics, Richard was working on a cure for cancer but feared that it would be used as a weapon. They could be going on a similar route here. There was a line in the trailer when Richard said "someday you'll understand" to Peter. This could have many implications. Also take into consideration what Uncle Ben said about Richard's "philosophy", something along the lines of "if there was anything you could do to help someone, you should do it".

I dont want to read through all of these because I dont want to know all the information before seeing the film, but is it 100% comfirmed that his orgin is changed? Or is it all speculation from the trailer?

Granted I was a bit late; I didn't see the third trailer play during TA. I got there when the trailer for The Dictator was playing. So it might of aired before that. I did see TDKR trailer though. It was cool.

I honestly never heard of that BadassDigest site until a couple of weeks ago when it said Sony Execs hate it. Now it seems every negative thing about the film is coming from that site.
