I think that the best one is probably The Avengers, with Iron Man 1 almost tied... maybe slightly in second

Iron Man 1 because it was a great movie and he is my second favorite of all heroes. The Avengers come in second by a decimal point.
Of course it's easy to pick what's freshest in the mind. Tomorrow is Avengers round three! |

The Avengers has the same amount of action as all of the other movies combined, but it's also better than most of it. I'm not knocking the others by any means, but having the Avengers with a world-consuming threat gives more options for big, awesome action scenes than the other movies. I'm sure MCU movies after The Avengers will have bigger, better, more expensive scenes, though.

As my persoanl enjoyment goes, I'd have to go with Captain America. It has the most consistent action, a believable love story, and the most snappy dialogue, so even the times between action are written in a very entertaining way. As for my personal preferences, I would rank them as follows. Captain America Avengers Incredible Hulk Iron man Thor Iron Man 2

Haven't seen the new Avengers movie yet, but plan to next weekend. Out of the previously released individual movies, Captain America, was far and away my favorite. Why? Because taking out Nazis and the Red Skull can never be a bad thing. Oh, and the movie was great too.

1. Iron Man
2. The Avengers 3. Captain America 4. Thor 5. Incredible Hulk 6. Iron Man 2 Avengers and Cap are neck and neck, though. Give it a few months, and I may go back to preferring Cap.

Avengers for me. Take the best moments of the solo films, throw out the weaker parts, then blend them all together seamlessly to make a ridiculous blockbuster that had the scale and scope which the solo movies lacked, but still maintained the heart and characterisation.
That's what Avengers is. |

Currently my favorite is Thor.
I see Avengers in a few hours. I will report back which one I enjoyed more tonight.

I would say Avengers, for a variety of reasons. However, I must say that Avengers depends a lot on the movies that came before it. A large part of why Avengers is good is that it maintains continuity of progression and characterization for everyone, albeit inobtrusively and organically. That requires there already be a sense of character and continuity.

Still Iron Man hands down. But the Incredible Hulk is by far the most underrated.

IM is still their best film so far tbh but TA had the superior action and right now I'm jazzed about it a bit more only because it finally gave me an accurate and decent interpretation of Banner and the Hulk. I've been waiting for that for ages. I no longer have to give a speech about why I like that property so much to my friends because it had a couple of mediocre movies so they just don't get it. I could now point them in the direction of The Avengers.

It was kind of exhausting. I found the quieter moments a little stressful because I was anticipating the action and when the action came it was relentless but when you look back one all the moments you laughed, teared up or cheered you realize how much entertainment value is packed in. The amount of easter eggs and nods to fanboys are relentless and put any other comic book movie to shame. For all these reason I think this movie will reward repeat viewings like no other because you can let the references and comic book touches wash over you without being overwhelmed. Thor has some cool Asgardian stuff but Avengers offers so much more. My rankings: 1. Avengers - 9 2. Thor - 8 3. Captain America - 7.5 4. Iron Man - 7 5. The Incredible Hulk - 6.5 6. Iron Man 2 - 6

Also I like to add is few superhero movies finish strong these days and Avengers is by far the best in this area.
Even after the action dies down there are a few things to chew on.
