So what was up with the meh title screen? It wasn't even centered properly. Odd they didn't go with something more dramatic.
they were like: **** it. This movie kicks ass. Who needs a proper title? |

Two things...
What was Thor's mission? I know he was there to stop Loki, but was he supposed to also bring him back to Asgard? Therefore, was it also part of his mission to retrieve the Tesseract? Can't remember if that was mentioned initially. At the end when Fury tells the council that he's not arguing with a god, was that just about letting Thor take Loki, the Tesseract or both? Because that wouldn't explain if his goal was to retrieve the tesseract, just that he IS taking it now. ----------- I didn't really get the final scene of Thor and Loki transporting back to Asgard. Was it the tesseract power? In which case, we know that the gods (or maybe really clever people) can teleport themselves using it, but that a special machine (with iridium) is needed to open portals. Have I got that right? I definitely didn't think it was Odin pulling them back. I've only seen it once, and finances mean it'll unfortunately stay that way for a while... PS: I'm a Thor fan, but I really did get the impression that, under the circumstances, Hulk was getting the upper hand before the jet came along. Sad, but that's how I saw it.

loki was too much like zod. if i want to see zod i will watch superman. he got quite boring and they didn't offer up other villains as a challenge. the alien invasion portal story has been done to death so that was also boring.

I'll also add that while Renner's Hawkeye was quietly cool, he spent way too much time as Loki's lackey and not enough doing his own thing.

I didnt like the 3D in IMAX, it just wasn't that spectacular...lots of clipping...especially at the invasion part.

Cheers, I couldn't recall them saying anything about the tesseract, missed it.

Hulk wasn't getting the upper hand on Thor. Thor was holding back on the Helicarrier, he was just trying to stop Hulk from smashing the place up. And he wasn't even using Mjolnir for 90% of the fight.

All IMAX 3D really means is that the mediocre post-conversion process is now blown up on a bigger screen.

For WHATEVER reason, to me it looked like Hulk was getting the upper hand.
And yeah, Thor REALLY looked to be holding back when he uppercut Hulk with Mjolnir ![]()

Because Loki is no where near as strong as Thor. Loki isn't even a full Asgardian. Thor always holds back with Loki, because he loves him. But when he really loses his ****, he dominates him, like on Stark Tower after Loki stabbed him.

Yea then after that he tried to put Hulk in a sleeper hold. He was trying to subdue him, not kill him.

That was the sole reason for that scene. Nothing about it being just about the most hilarious thing to watch, and showing the end of Loki as a threat.

Strength Level: Loki possesses the normal strength of an Asgardian male of his age, height, and build.

"The monster who makes play he's still a man" and all that. That's the comics, not the movies. And the average Asgardian is in the class 50 range in terms of strength. Thor is class 100 and beyond. |

No, no where near it. Loki is to Hulk what Cap was to Loki. Hulk was throwing Thor around, Loki is an ant to him.
I thought it was great. Not only was it Hulk's revenge, but it subverted the whole "villain monologue" thing. Usually the villain goes on a monologue, and the hero, for some reason, listens to them. Not Hulk, he just smashes. |

My opinion is that Loki had completely snapped by that point. Combined with a huge ego, he wasn't thinking properly at ALL.
Had it been earlier in the film, he'd have done the illusion trick he used on Thor.

Hahaha - Either way, I think mentally, Loki was past thinking properly by that point. Which is why he became an asgardian/frost giant runt (shame) ragdoll.
